Do you call a Soul Calibur game "Beat'em up" ?

Do you concider it a Beat'Em Up game?

To me I dont think so. When I hear "Beat'em up" I always picture:

- Final Fight
- Dynasty Warriors
- Samurai Warriors
- Ninety Nine Nights
- Double Dragon
- Urban Reign
- God Hand
- etc....

Fighting Versus Games are no way call "Beat em'up" well atleast to my personal opinion. How bout you? what you think?

ps. not talking about Soul Calibur Legends for the Wii.

I consider SoulCalibur a 'beat em up' because it is one :) Tekken (also by Namco) is a beat em up, so is Street Fighter II etc.....so SoulEdge/Blade/Calibur is in the beat em up genre ;)

Final Fight, Double Dragon etc are side scrolling beat em ups. Or in the case of Samurai/Dynasty Warriors, they are free roaming beat em ups (with a small strategy hint to them lol)

- Tekken = fighting game

- God Hand = beat em up

- Dynasty Warriors = hack n slash/ beat em up

- Devil May Cry = hack n slash

- Tenchu = stealth hack n slash

- Ty the Tasmanian Tiger = platform

Calling games like Soul Calibur a "beat em up" can make things confusing. example.... you tell your wife to go buy any "beat em up" game and she will bring you Final Fight: Streetwise when you really mean fighting games such as Soul Calibur, Tekken, Dead or Alive, Streetfighter, King of Fighters, Mortal Kombat, Bloody Roar, Virtua Fighter etc....

To me, its not a "Beat-em up" game.
Its a fighting game.
You don't "beat-em" parsay...
You rather fight them, with weapons...
Not your body parts...
