All K8 chips use the same flaw in the design - can't get above 3.0Ghz. It has nothing to do with the power envelope.

65nm on the 6000+ is the same as 80nm of the X1950 Pro - lowers temps, nothing more.

lol whatever...my old A64 Sandy 4000+ did 3.3Ghz, so plz stop talking rubbish

if you have anything useful to add, please do, but stop adding crap to this thread, about stuff you OBVIOUSLY KNOW ZERO ABOUT. or you really wouldnt be posting what you did.... LOL

i guess intel fanboy wanted to crap on the party, but missed and just plain crapped himself

Edit: looks a nice chip, if i were not upgrading to a phenom in due course id deffo consider this, especially since the lower Wattage would love my pelt cooler, lol, the poor block is trying to cool 160+ W on this overclocked opty 185 :(

makes me cry that this crappy stepping opty wont happily break 3.1ghz. and the comedy thing is I "had" a great stepping opty 185, but it died and needed RMA-ing only to be replaced by something not even comparable :(

personally, Im gonna wait until Phenom arrives before deciding on any upgrades.it least then my pc would have done its time & also new tech like DDR3 & PCI-E 2.0 etc will be out. I will defo go SLI this time also so maybe something will be released thats better then a 320/640mb 8800GTS:rockout::rockout::rockout:

overclocks higher than 3 GHz were rare before the F3 revision, and brisbane. Many brisbane core K8's easily clock up to about 3 GHz, while F3's are clocking up past 3.2-3.4...its absolutely insane considering i can't even do 2.6 at a decent voltage on my E6 4400+

my X2 3800+ is currently running at 2.610Ghz voltage is curently at 1.5v but ive tested it to 1.47v stable (a little more juice just for the hell of it) could be that your cpu came from a bad batch.

I think Weer doesn't have a clue what he is talking about.

This chip equal's a FX60 with half the cache. If you have a AM2 board with a lower end model this seems like a worthy option if you plan to overclock!

Remember the Spring and Summer of 2003, when all AMD fans were chasing streets and online shops for "Bartons" (mostly XP 2500+) with unlocked multiplier. Just weeks before lauch of Athlon 64.
History simply repeats itself, but now it's like official marketing move and not just viral strategy.
Which doesn't mean that an opportunity to buy a officially overclock-able CPU with full warranty just for a ten buck more is a bad thing, though.

Ok, so after searching hard on the web I have found 1 overclocking article on this chip. Unfortunately it was in Chineese, but the cpu-z screen gave a 3.4ghz clock speed. What was wierd was that the chip wasn't oc'd by multi, but by the fsb. It's on the forums at www.coolaler.com
Here is another link. (3.5ghz!) http://www.nordichardware.com/news,6870.html
