SilverStone Technology today announced the immediate availability of the latest installment from the MILO series line, MILO 12 - a 15.6L slim and compact Mini-ITX case suitable as a HTPC system that sits next to your TV or as a high-performance workstation.

MILO 12 sports a dual-chamber internal body structure as the ML08 and RVZ03, but with few adjustments and enhancements to adhere to today's high-end hardware standards. A modular design has also been implemented which allows for all 4 panels (top, bottom, left & right side) to be removed for a simple and convenient build process.

The right side of the chassis is the motherboard and PSU side, supporting Mini-ITX motherboard in a 180 degree rotated motherboard layout, and an ATX PSU. An ATX to SFX adapter bracket is also included for SFX or SFX-L PSU installation, this in turn, increases space for cable management and most importantly, opens up clearance for a 9.5 mm slim optical drive to be installed at the front of the chassis, a feature seen in all MILO series chassis'.
The left side is the graphics card side, which supports 3-slot cards of up to 345 mm in length and 160 mm in width, with an included PCIe 4.0 riser card and a graphics card holder to keep the card properly positioned.

The dual-chamber layout design is beneficial to the overall internal temperature as the 2 main heat sources (CPU & GPU) are separated to not cause overlapping of heat generated while receiving their own fresh air intake respectively.

Last but not least, case stand and case feet are also included, so users can opt for a horizontal or vertical orientation depending on the environment MILO 12 will be settling in.

Availability and Pricing
The MILO 12 is now available for purchase via SilverStone's worldwide network of authorized retailers and distributors. The MILO 12 (SST-ML12B) has an MSRP of $189.99 (USD).

Ok, now I was gonna get fractal case but instead I'll get this. I have an external BR drive I could possibly rip out and turn into internal to use for this case too.

I like it.

Issue will probably be lack of availability and excessively high price cause canuckistan is crap for PC parts.

Silverstone seems to have 2 sizes of their console esque case, the larger ones have an optical drive and the smaller ones dont.

This looks... fine? The only issue is the cosmetic design which looks at least 10 years older than the similar Fractal Design Ridge.

I love silverstone they seem to be the only manufacturer to be thoughtful about the diy PC market.

I like the fractal ridge, too, but they are not even comparable. We’re talking 1/3 of the size here.

Yeah, Silverstone's HTPC cases are pretty good, internally - but a lot of their fascias are bad enough that I'd never want one in my living room on display.

I've wanted to move on from my GD04 for a while now, but it does the job and at least has a nice black anodised aluminium fascia that looks the part. If someone can afford a triple-slot GPU that this case is designed for, they can afford better than the minimum-effort black plastic front with random angular slashes and random ugly detailing that the Asian designers can't seem to help adding to things.

It's like they have a compulsion to add fussy details everywhere. I guess we should just be thankful it's not ARGBLED too, right?

I’m not sure what you’re asking here. The ridge is a mid-tower ATX case, this a SFF itx case. Idk why people are comparing the two.

I believe you're confusing the Ridge with some other model. The Fractal Ridge is an ITX case with the same overall design as the Milo. It replaces the Fractal Node 202.

Fractal Ridge: 115x360x375mm, GPU limit 325x137mm, CPU cooler 70mm, PSU SFX/SFX-L only
Silverstone Milo: 105x393x378mm, GPU limit 345x160mm, CPU cooler 77mm, PSU ATX or SFX-L

is that an optical drive?... interesting.

that is just a slot for laptop sized optical drive - so you can replace it with some kind of expansion slots - additional 2.5" sata drive slot or something

not a bad idea for such a "workstation case"

The best use of an Optical drive bay these days is to use it as a mounting bag for a front-facing HDMI+USB port. Why? VR headsets.

I still have wired VR and the living room (where an HTPC case like this is most likely to be put) is usually the best room in the house for VR.
