Write to bios? or dead?

Hi, Does the ATItool write to the videocard bios or flash or something permanent?
I overclocked too hard acciently (it had changed to autoupdate clocks somehow)
and it intstantly crashed and i cant get into windows (once the welcome screen apears it major glitches and locks up)
VGA mode is sweet :p

so have i killed my Leadtek A400 (Geforce 6800) ?
its got the biggest HS ive ever seen (almost 1 kg)
didnt think it could fry!

try booting into safe mode and remove ati tool there. i think i've seen that exact problem here before and that seemed to help.

do you have another vid card to boot with? try that. or maybe remove the vid card, attempt to boot. then put your card back in maybe it will rediscover the card and reset it.

if those dont work maybe someone else can, but i bet its fixable.

Boot from some kind of disk that enables you to acces NTFS and rename atitool.exe, it should not be able to load it's configuration while it lacks the executable... and just later try to unisntall or somethign to eliminate the configuration.
