Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a fast-paced action-adventure that challenges players with a wide variety of lethal monsters and traps, most of which take speed and precision to conquer—which means that smooth, responsive performance is especially important. To that end, Sargon's adventure through Mount Qaf will target at least 60 frames per second on all platforms when it launches on January 18 (or on January 15 for Ubisoft+ subscribers and owners of the Digital Deluxe Edition), whether you're playing on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or Amazon Luna. First, let's take a look at the PC specs below.

The Story of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Sargon, trained as a weapon to serve Persia, is on a mission to save its heir to the throne, Prince Ghassan. This perilous journey is sending him to Mount Qaf, where time no longer flows swift and sure in one direction. Sargon along with the other Immortals head to Mount Qaf to save the Prince, but it doesn't take long before he finds himself splitting paths, with some of the Immortals on a conflicting trajectory. Maybe that's because time seems to be mysteriously intertwined here and sometimes the past can happen after the present. No matter the cost, Sargon continues to strive when all odds are against him, gaining strength along the way.

Low spec requirements, but only a directx 11 game in 2024 from a big game developer like Ubisoft:shadedshu:

Thats explains the low spec requirements.

Still waiting on that sequel to the cliffhanger you left the DLC on for PoP 2008 Ubisoft. No, I will never let this go, why do you ask?

Seems like they were really hurt by the backlash over the "no dying" thing. They canned the beginning of a nice story that just ended unresolved. I really enjoyed the universe of that game

The backlash was fairly stupid, and I say this as a massive PoP fan. The entire mechanic with Elika saving you from your mess ups was, essentially, not different in practice to the rewinding from the Sands trilogy. Yeah, they removed the resource aspect, but the tradeoff was that the game never really lost the flow of the platforming sections. I would argue that the massively simplified combat (compared to WW and TTT freeform) was a bigger issue for the game. Yeah, I see what they tried to do with, essentially, going back and updating the original PoP system from the 2D games (single opponent, counter based on attack type), but unfortunately it usually boiled down to “find the longest combo and use that”. Sure, you could cheese fights in previous games with wall attacks and grabs, but it was significantly less egregious.

Looks like Fortnite gave birth to a fugly side scroller type game.

I prefer the gritty look/style of the very old Sega Genesis game over this brightly colored, flashy junk.

I guess the only upside are the low system requirements.

Hello Ublerswoft, this is 2016 calling, and we want ALL our outdated, rainbow-fetish-lookin DX11 gamz back, like, yesterday :)

I'm soooooo glad I don't do gamz, or I'd actually be really upset right now, but ATM, all I can muster is a good ole, heartbreakingly sad ROTFLMAO  !

So it runs on a potato? but is it going to be priced like a potato?

League of legends runs on a potato is misleading, I got a core i9 13th generation 64 RAM, with a 3070ti and the game doesn't runs smooth in that machine at 4k.

So I doubt it will run super fast on a potato.

Priced like a potato? Yes, if you wait enough time and get it on discount, specially for the PC version, it will cost you like a potato.

Neither. It’s a new, unconnected entry. The Sands trilogy (or quadrology, if we count Forgotten Sands, which we should not) is long finished.

I prefer the gritty look/style of the very old Sega Genesis game over this brightly colored, flashy junk.
I see we have a Warrior Within apologist in the house. Crucify him!
I kid, but honestly, it looks fine-ish for what it is. SoT and 2008 (and to lesser extent TTT and FS) were also fairly colorful. That’s kind of PoP style at this point. The only deviation was WW and that proved… divisive, to say the least.

I think You need to deep much deeper than just Sands of Time, cause neatfeatguy spoke of the games from the '90s... Also - from the 2000s trilogy, Warrior Within was considered the best of them, in style, gameplay and story.

As for this upcoming thing, they should add "a brain of an 8yo" to the specs...

I know exactly what he was referring to. I have played every PoP title in existence, including the abominable PoP 3D. He was talking about The Shadow and the Flame. Or the port of the OG game, I can’t remember offhand which one was on Genesis/MegaDrive. I just used the Sands trilogy as reference point since THAT is when Ubisoft entered the picture. And I would say that saying that WW was considered the best, especially when talking about story and style is a… bold take, not gonna lie. From my experience it’s treated often as a black sheep. Not sure exactly what about Godsmack and sepia palette screams Prince of Persia to people who dig the style. Gameplay-wise, though, I would agree. Maybe. Combat - yes. Platforming - eh, no game after SoT captured the height of the final ascent up the Tower of Dawn.

As for this upcoming thing, they should add "a brain of an 8yo" to the specs...
But which 8yo? Because a baby boomer 8yo would probably be college material today.

Low spec visuals are fine imho here. The OG PoP seems like what they aim for. If it has the mystery and difficulty of that... Im game!

That sounds more like a poorly optimized game honestly.....not that I will ever play it......is it a console port?

Ive played plenty of Dota and it will run on Vega onboard graphics no worries.

Thats the only way to buy games in this day in age is to wait for it to be on sale/discount, im not a fan of buying PC games for over $100
