So I bought the game yesterday and it runs great on my machine. 16x AA, 16x10 res, no Vsync, etc etc.
I managed to make a perfect working ISO of it and re-burnt it to a DVD-R. I installed it just fine on my brothers computer. However, when you try to play it from the copied disc, it tells you to use the original disc and not a backup copy. After which, I got looking around for a fixed exe. Found one. Patched the game (yes there's a patch already. Fixes 25 issues) and applied the fixed EXE. Works flawless.
So here I am, trying to figure out how to put it on my dad's computer that lacks a DVD drive. Then I got to thinking that I could just mount the ISO using Daemon Tools and install it that way. So I did. Mind you he has a single core AMD64 3200+ at 2GHz 2GB RAM, and a 6800GS (AGP). The game calls for at least Windows XP with the latest SP, Pentium 4 2.0GHz or higher, or AMD equivalent, 1GB RAM, 128MB DX9c card with PS 2.0 with a GeForce 6600/ATI Radeon X700 or higher. My dad meets these requirements. The game runs like absolute crap. I tried overclocking the video card, that helped at one point until I messed with the resolution to try and gain some extra FPS. That somehow managed to give me even worse FPS than I already had originally(25-30FPS). So now, I cant get anywhere above 11FPS. I have the game on the lowest settings possible and even at 1024x768 and I still get 11FPS. If I increase the res at all, the FPS is even worse.
I tried putting the video card on its old settings from when I had it (unlocked pipes and vertex shader at 412/1.12GHz) and no dice.
Any ideas guys? I know its not the most elaborate machine, but this rig should be able to play this game at medium settings.
