Is there some test that i could run to ensure that my GPU is working properly?

No, you can definitely get maximum GPU stress out of a DX12 benchmark like TimeSpy.
You're also good on total system power/load apparently, seeing as you don't crash in high load scenarios specifically.

If you can get a replacement GPU, preferably Nvidia, too, (saves you clean driver installs) to try and reproduce the issue, that would be helpful. If another GPU gives you no issues, I would still be at a loss how its possible, but then I'd certainly exchange the GPU for another one, if its not too much trouble.

If you did a proper clean install of this GPU there's really no reason the game would crash like it does, but every config is different. Who knows what's amiss on your system... That's why testing more games can give you a more accurate assumption of what's wrong.

I'm not sure if you've been over this, but are your running you system at stock clocks/settings? If not, do that. You need to test that baseline. Perhaps you've got an unstable OC, or some software setting screws it up.
I´ve formatted the whole windows and it still shows the same behavior

But yes , ran 3dmark probably 6-8 times ( timespy,superposition,firestrike) at high settings/resolution

Even tried superposition at 8k

No crashes at all

The best answer I can give you right now is: its very unlikely the GPU is bad. Its more likely R6 went bad - somehow. Best idea is to look at your remaining warranty period and decide before then what you'll do with it. You can run with it for a while longer and see if the problem exists anywhere else than in that game - and/or if Ubisoft was the one that needed to fix it.

Please start by doing this:
If your happy move on, best to fill out your system specs while your here
< www.techpowerup.com/forums/account/specs
When you upgrade to a better GPU you can put a higher load on other components and find out that they are in fact not 100% stable. Please scribble down your system specs, something else might be the issue.

The most intensive stress test for graphics cards is folding@home. Most forum members here are too afraid of it as it will break the overclocks that they swear are stable. It's good for testing CPU and RAM too as it has zero tolerance for instability.

Whenever I get a new graphics card, I'll install recent drivers and make sure HWiNFO is running (with graphing turned on) to record highs and lows.

I generally run one pass each of Unigine Heaven, Valley, and Superposition, mostly to check that A.) the thermal solution is working, and B.) performance is within the ballpark of expectations. The three benchmarks do not push the graphics card exactly the same way so it's worth trying all three at least once. However, these three benchmarks do not include newer GPU technology.

Running the built-in benchmarks for Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider makes sense since I own both games and those are very close to actual loads.

If it's an GeForce RTX card, I'll use the Nvidia DLSS demo to make sure the Tensor cores work and Unity Enemies to make sure the RT cores work. The 3DMark TimeSpy benchmark is not a bad thing to try out. There are a few other RT and DLSS benchmarks out there, I think the Bright Memory Infinite one is free.

If the card is running satisfactorily, I might use the Unigine ones to configure fan curves for noise otherwise that's basically it for any GPU benchmarking.

More recently, there's one more test for GPUs: video upscaling software like Waifu2x Extension GUI. This isn't really a benchmark. This is a real world usage case for me these days, just like Handbrake encoding.

When you did your stabillity tests with 3Dmark and Ungine did you by nchance also run the benchmarks to compare them with simular hardware configurations?
Just to see if the GPU is not only stable but also delivers the expected performance.

My Kid has this same issue with R6.. (Rainbow 6 Siege)

It plays for hours, then the driver crashes out of no where. I know his card is good, its my old card. (6900xt) It would do the same with his previous card, 6700xt. I punished the 6700xt in my system and could not get it to crash at all. I dont play R6, so I think its just that game.

Hey guys

I´ve tried a extreme test , went to sleep and left control running at 4k max settings and rtx

My card averages 32 fps at these settings (fixed scene , i was not playing)

Went to sleep and left the game running at these settings for 10 hours without crashes whatsoever

I think this test should be enough right?

You try other games yet? You know, actually played them and not left them idle?

Playing a game and leaving it running idle are two completely different things. You're just wasting your time leaving programs to run for hours on end.

Play other games, if the other games don't crash you don't have a GPU problem. It could then be (most likely) a R6 game problem or maybe (less likely) a driver problem.

I would say there is nothing wrong with your card. If it only crashes on Rainbow 6, with the latest driver, roll back a driver and see if its stable.

TPU community members have provided a wide range of suggestions on how to assess your graphics card. You are free to follow or ignore some/all of it.

In the end, your computer hardware needs to work acceptably for the variety of usage cases you had planned for it.

Not everyone here owns a copy of this game Control. If you are satisfied with the performance and stability of your graphics card, that's what really matters the most.

I know some people online buy computer hardware mostly to run benchmarks. That's fine, that's what gives them pleasure. You are free to continue running tests if it makes you comfortable.

I do other things with my computers (yes I have more than one) so at some point, I stop running benchmarks and move on with my life. I can't advise to others when to do this though. I also know there are many computer users who have never run a single benchmark in their lives.

That sucks to hear , thought leaving it at idle max gpu usage would do the trick

I´m not playing anything else now , mostly r6

Since i tried the benchmarks and left control at idle max settings

I also don´t ever get display driver crash , pc crash , bsod whatever

Just r6 closing between rounds

It does not even crashes in game

Beats me.

As suggested by others, you should spend some time playing other games with the new graphics card mostly to rule out a hardware issue. Idling in game at max settings is NOT considered playing a game. Or you could simply invoke the customer satisfaction policy, return the card and hope the replacement works satisfactorily.

Best of luck.
