is 7900GS sli can beat the 8800gt?

My first inclination is to say NO, but I have no real proof to back up that claim other than to lead you to our own results found here.....http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=25995
As i looked there is a SLI 7900GS setup scoring just over 8000 in 3D06, and the lowest 8800GTS score I saw was 8800 something in the same bench!

The 8800GT is better. It's cooler, faster and doesn't have the problems of SLI.

Generally across the board, a single 8800GTS 640MB is up to 20% faster than dual 7900GS cards, of course you get other benefits also, the single 8800GTS will consume a little less power, is DX10 compatible etc.
My card gets around 12,300 in 3D Mark 2006, looking around at the 7900GS in Sli with a similar rig shows they are getting around 8500-9500 points, maybe a little more.

Yup...the 8800GT is looking a very good bet and cheaper than the 640MB 8800GTS.
