Hi,

I've recently upgraded my processor and my mobo so I freshly instaled the WIN XP again...all the drivers everything ok...untill i started playing and I've noticed that the shadows in games are lookin like hell and I don't know why as before, with my AMD Athlon 3500+ and an ASUS M2N4-SLI and the same windows version and the same video card the shadows were looking great.

I'm using Catalyst 7.10.

Please find some sample pictures just to make an ideea.

HELP and THANKS!

The same problem with the shadows... I just can't understand... could it be because of the processor or of the mobo?

Before I got these I was on and AMD Athlon 3500+ and M2N4-SLI and I didn't had this problem, the shadows looked fine... the problem is that they are ruining the textures in game...looks like sh*t...

Any settings that I could change? What the hell should I do...cuz I feel like throwing the pc out of the damn window...spent a lot of cash on it in the last 2 months...

Check game setting and see if there is something for soften shadows... Make sure shadow detail is up there. I have a 2900pro shadows are nice and haven't had a problem other than opengl glitch with a second card.

I have been messing around with some other games... track mania has the same issue, but I haven't seen it in other games. So most likely its just some form or ploy placed into the game to get certain people to purchase certain cards. Like the FEAR back long time ago, change the FEAR.exe to anything but and watch your performance increase by 25 to 30%. Its sad but loads of companies like it. It in there mind fuels the market, personally I think its just something that will cause the market to eventually come to a stand still. No reason for any game that runs shadows off a similar basis to look corrupt and yet in other games with simple to advanced shadows look fine, if they share the same engine.
