Agreed. If I didn't already own Windows Vista, I would have been all over this deal. Microsoft products have always worked on my computers just as advertised, so no complaints there. But I guess that's partially ecasue I upgrade parts every half year, so I'm always cutting-edge. On the other end of that, it takes time for freeware projects like Linux to catch up and work with cutting-edge hardware.
But, of course, unless everyone out there exaggerates way too much, Microsoft products must have a tendency to not run. Maybe it's the product; maybe it's the users. Whatever the case, I don't have problems, and go on happily using Vista and Office and such.
I don't care about privacy, and I don't understand why other people do, but I respect their right to feel differently.
Everyone has their own experiences that shape their decision-making and morals. I like Microsoft products. Others don't. No one is wrong by stating their opinon. What is wrong is when they fight, which I'm glad this thread hasn't turned into.
