i just bought this game yesterday, installed it, i must say the graphics look good, and game play in awesome, but it seems every dam level is the same indoors and in hallways.oh and multiplayer sucks...weapons are fun, but it no different than any other mp free for all.well thats just my opinion...the game is not as good as its hyped up to be, going back to bf2/sf and mohpa, cod2. now these are some good games.

yeah, I finished it in about 5 days of casual playing, then uninstalled it...great graphics, so so game.

I bought the directors kit from a friend used for $20.

I've got a good amount of use out of it due to recent hardware upgrades.
It a good game to play if you want to tax your computer.

The graphics are awsome, but it needs more levels, and something to stop it getting repetetive.

it has been over hyped.. its just a system crippling not very game engine efficent so so shooter with (very) good ai and rag doll physics..

the grfx are good but not that good.. certainly not good enough to demand all that grfx card power and system memory to play it..

not a patch on cod 2 really.. that needs "power" but at least what u get is worth it..

Well if you're looking for run and gun, maybe there are better games, but tactics, suspense, action, graphics, and just artwork is what FEAR is perfect at. Enemies aren't everywhere like they are in most new games, but it builds suspense and scares you to death when something does happen. And just watching how realistically enemies can die or fight back against you is enough for me. I'm assumin you guys who hate this game for gameplay are also big fans of the Unreal Tournament series, the 100% run and gun, stupid fast games.

Hey now. I like FEAR, but Unreal Tournament has its place. And I wouldn't call me stupid for liking it. I enjoy the slower games very much, but the quickness and all out action of Unreal Tournament is exciting. Out of the fast "Stupid" games however, Unreal Tournament is the best. I like it much more than Quake, Halo, and Doom. To agree with you though. FEAR does have some amazing physics, lighting effects, and the AI is very capable, as well as the creepy events that are almost always a surprise. Makes for a very fun experience . The zones are extremely repetetive, I must agree. The game would, without a doubt, benefit from a greater variety of scenery.

hmm, no, I usually play Battle field 2, Rome, AOE 3, Live for speed (not need for speed) and flight sims so I'd say I'm not a run and gunner, I just didn't like FEAR because the game felt monotonous. The AI was the best I've seen and the graphics were interesting, but I thought the level desigh was similar to DOOM and the game was too predictable, it never surprised or startled me, I kept hearing how scary it is but I didn't even twitch once during the game.

In my opinion the game was pretty, but boring not due to the lack of fast action, but due to the fact that I could predict the story line. I beat the game in about 6 hours and that was with a decent amount of exploring too.

Amazing tech display though, now they just need to finish coding it!

You are one smart man then dude. I have seen EVERY type of scary-thing, ranging from real life haunted houses to Resident Evil (and of course every movie imaginable) and I have always been able to predict scary moments in those, but FEAR caught me off guard each and every time. There were so many times I thought "he'll just use the door" (Window smashes and he's in my face) "OH MY GOD!!" or "that wasn't scary....at least it's over" (crazy shadowed red-eyed ghost with wings staring at me) ".....!!!!". It's unbelievable how many of those things happened in the game, in my opinion it took geniusses to make it that unpredictable, but you seem to have outsmarted even them if you were never scared.

I still thing the graphics/physics and AI are the best about in fear! But i just thing it's a little repetetive and some of the 'scary parts' are a little lame.

I don't know why, but HL2 makes me feel ill after 5-10 minutes. I havn't got a clue what's causing it.

Plus the fact that i HATE Steam... that software takes up too much space, download speeds are too slow and more to the point, it's completely pointless. So even if HL2 didn't make me feel sick, i wouldn't have it anyway because of steam.

Remember you HAVE to be connected to the internet with Steam with EVERY game. I also really feel bad with Half Life 2, it's wierd but I've felt like that with a lot of games before. Ones that make me feel happy are definitely FEAR and Quake 4, but the Half Life series just don't feel right. Same with the Medal of Honor series.

Yeah, something wierd's going on with those games. FEAR, Quake 4, Doom3, BF2... they're all 1st person shooters like HL2, but none of them make me feel crappy, and i love them all!

Also, COD2 made me feel horrible, which is a shame, because i was looking forward to getting that game.

i read an article by the dudes who did seriouse sam 2.. it got compared to painkiller.. the seriouse dude said they wanted a "happy" killing game that appealed to all not one that only appealed to fanatical gamers or freaks.. he he he

i liked em both so i aint sure what that makes me..

It may be motion sickness. Your visuall perception is telling you something different than your inner ear. This is becoming more and more common with more advanced graphics. Unless you think it is an emotional response?

WOW, thermo you might have answered one of life's many questions there! I know I hate playing games if I played them when I was sick (happened with THPS4 and State of Emergency), so that's emotional, but seriously that very slight "throw up" kind of feeling I never figured out until now. Another element that makes me feel bad (restless) is waiting in an action-filled game. Warioware Touched! I almost destroyed because of those dumbass tunes that are an hour long between every microgame. I don't appreciate stopping and starting over and over, and that game just will not let you go crazy or calm down.
