Yes they should, but some will need/be better off with a BIOS update.

Yes, P35's and X38's both support Wolfdales. It's just that P35's don't support PCI-E 2.0. Some will support the 45nm with a BIOS update (hopefully with the 680i's

).

Heh the P35 was a steal at 70$ when I bought it! Newegg had like a 1 day deal on it :rockout:

If you're using a single video card (unless it's a 9800 GX2 / HD3870 X2), you really won't lose too much from not having PCI-E 2.0

Thankfully even the 8800 Ultra doesn't use all the bandwidth of a standard PCI-E 1.0 slot.
So PCI-E 2.0 bandwidth requirements, eh we don't need it *yet*.

We will have to wait and see if the HD3870x2 and 9800 GX2 will actually use some of the
extra bandwidth

Now it's like $100. $70 is a good deal for a P35. Now all you need is some cash to pick one of the wolfdales up.

I got the E2200 to hold me over for awile. Im only 15 im trying to get a job so the first thing I will buy when I get the money will be a 45nm intel. I will probly get the cheapest one I can get.

Also will my Arctic Freezer 7 Pro work fine with a E8000?

Should work fine, I also have a Arctic cooler Freezer 7 pro, it's on my Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 CPU. Jut get some good thermal paste to go on the CPU(like Arctic silver 5) and it should cool it very well.

I'm guessing that price is a little higher than people expected. It's funny when the price lists come out, and people disregard the price listed is based upon a LARGE quantity. Retail is always going to be an additional 10%, and possibly more based on demand. However, I did get my e8400 for $199 and $8 2 day shipping..

Ya, there pretty much on par with each other. MX-1&2 and Arctic Silver 5 are the two best CPU thermal compounds on the market. So it will work very well

Less heat, more power. They are also pretty cheap, just wait till they all come out. Even the lower end ones are great performing at a value price.
