Should beat the eepc in terms of perfomance. I like it.

I bought a acer laptop for a family member overseas with a 1.6ghz centrino, 1.25gb memory, 80gb hdd, dvd-rw, wireless...etc....like all for $235 and it came with two batteries, docking station, and in prime condition (some old lady had it, but kept in neat and clean). This micro low powered laptops are damn over price for their features.

With these little machines, they should release free SDKs that allow you to toy with the thing remotely. I'd get one just to screw around then.

30GB HD makes it way cooler than EeePC IMO.

it should even be easily upgradable to xp or vista if you wanted it to

and the unichrome graphics can play most older games i played prey on unichrome pros and 64mb shared. since the LCD is only @800X480 it should even play with ok settings (med or so) but seeing how i dont seee very many playing games on it who cares

Care to tell us how large it is and what it weighs?

I use a Evo N410c, I love it just because it's so damn small and light. It's a Tualatin 1.2 though that's all I require for mobile work, and when I say mobile that's exactly what I mean. I don't consider a 17" laptop mobile. Just movable.

So according to your logic, small and less of should cost more. So if I am looking for a new tv, it is cheaper to go for the 50" rather than the 40"...or if i want to buy a new car, its cheaper to get the full load car, rather than the base model.

I have a compaq m300, which is the precursor to your n410c...small & light. Also i work at fry's and all these micro computers get returned in couple days get because they are slow and fuctionless. Customers then go for the 12-14" screen are much more happier with their purchase. Its not like you can put these 7" laptops in your purse, so it makes in difference on their puny size, for you have to lug the same bag. Also the 12-14" laptops are damn thin and light too.

have you ever seen one of these lappies? They are most definitely purse-sized.

I work at fry's and I do see ultra mobile pc's. Something like the Fujitsu LifeBook U810 which has a 5.6" screen or the Sony Vaio UX with a 4.5" screen can be fitted in a average purse. But this book is 7"...you will need a large purse, or a small laptop bag.
