recommend a "stealth" style FPS

recommend a "stealth" style FPS

I've already got the Thief series (which I absolutely love) - but I'm looking for another FPS that's more heavy on a stealth aspect, picking off a few enemies at a time, avoiding detection, etc

Crysis had some good elements, as did FEAR, but not "stealthy" enough - any ideas?

oblivion for the thieves guild missions although stealth isnt required

Second for Oblivion! I like the stealth elements alot. Thieves guild and the Dark Brotherhood focus on stealth most of the time.

Thief, MGS, and Splinter Cell are the big titles in stealth gameplay. Both MGS and SC also game on the pc, i would recommend checking them out.

second that on the dark brotherhood you get a lot of weapons and armour if you do those missions and there is that mission where you can use no weapons and like poison the apple and set a trap the mission everyone dies in

I've been a massive fan of the Thief series since The Dark Project was initially released back in '98 - and as much as I absolutely love such a 10star game, I was wanting something similar, but not carbon copy.

more like espionage instead of thieving - requiring a little more thinking on one's feet, but still having that immersion


I'll have to check out Splinter Cell, as it seems to come highly recommended just about everywhere. In that regard, which one should I pick up first? Or is there not an ongoing storyline from one to the next?

Call of Juarez. When you play as Billy, the entire point is to not get seen.

My fav mission is the one where you gotta kill all the guests in that mansion, so awsome! I killed all but the last two and they killed each other it was great

I say Splinter Cell is the classic, as well as MSG, but I only saw one mention of Hitman.

That is an awesome game... The 2nd one is the best and is worth it 100%. Great game.

Hmm, stealth FPS's are hard to find. Splinter Cell is great, Metal Gear Solid, Crysis has alot of stealth if you do it right, and Deus Ex Invisible War has good stealth elements.

I thought Crysis was quite capable of stealth, but one needed to make an effort for that play style.

Damn, I had forgotten all about Deus Ex! Oh, how Looking Glass Studios is so poorly missed (inventors of the stealth FPS with Thief: The Dark Project)!!!! !!!!

I might try and purchase a copy of the original Splinter Cell, soon - I'm not big on paying to download games, TBH.

the storyline is kind of lame, but the gameplay is definitely solid.

+1 for Deus Ex as long as it's the 1st one.

Armed Assault with the veg fix. All so Hitman comes to mind which you can play in other ways too.

you're kidding, right? sof is all about gore, blood, and guts, not stealth.

All so if you don't mind old games try Ghost Recon and check out some mods and tourney missions out as we and a few other groups used to make some real challenging missions for it.
