I got BFG GeForce 9600 GT early!

wot megs mom just bought me a new soldering iron and solder etc...hahahahaah the modding continues! ill head over to radioshack within the next couple o days when i go to get my conductive ink pen ill pick up some resistors and a roll of thin copper wire and ill prob have another guide going

is the pcb the same as the 8800GT reference? if so solaris youll have a breeze doing it as did i.

all i needed was my gas powered soldering iron, solder, 2 wires off an old 40 IDE cable, the variable resistor, and a multimeter. oh and some tape to cover it all since its fairly delicate.

wolf what did you use for a resistor 20k ohm 10kohm 10 ohm?...i looked at radio shack .com only seems they have 22k ohm...10 is to little imo ill prolly use one later but i dont want that much voltage quite yet....iv always used 20's but the vcore is lower on these so ill prolly go 10 or so im just curious.

i used a 500 ohm 25 turn variable resistor, and followed this guide to the letter: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?p=684943#post684943

and yesh be very carefull, the card should top out around 1.15-1.2v under 3d load, and the guide recommends no more than 1.433, however i get into Over Current Protection at 1.3v+ so im sitting pretty at ~1.28v and playing with clocks, so far it seems to be rock solid @ 810/2000/1900 - core/shader/mem

so is the reference 9600GT pcb the same as the reference 8800GT/GTS?

Oy it's in finnish...there's not many translators on the internet that can do finnish...even google translate doesn't cover that. darn

ay wolf the pcb is different the 9600 doesnt use the same voltage regulation chip either.

Lol, Sol you're famous!! Nvidia or one of thier card partners needs to hire you. All of your work makes me want to buy a 9600! Awsome job!

sounds good ill see if i can find it around someware...lol look at my cpu-z link....i was able to get a higher clock with my proc...it isnt stable at all because im on 200mhz ddr2 samsung mem with no HS so it cant take it but its nice to know the proc can do it.
