Freak - Those are some killer scores! Especially for not OCing the cards yet. I remember hearing of an option you had to turn on in the CCC for crossfire. Hmm, hope your figure it out soon!

Finally got 3dmark06 to run after uninstalling cat 8.3 and reinstalling 8.2. My new HD3850 stomps my old x1900gt.

I was trying to becnh at 3.8 1.55vcore (staying under 60c) and it was stable, but i clocked my cards to 800/1300 and they crashed again. i dont' know if its server 08 or if its drivers.

im going to run them in xp and see if i get much score difference.

So far my top score is 18916 (sorry my comp crashed shortly after and i coultn't save the screenie)

bummer! If you could get those cards up to even 825/1250 youll prob hit 20k.

After I saw the card you bought I went over to the egg to look at it, and I noticed a few users there said that the card would not overclock even a touch! Thats kinda a let down

I hope its just a driver thing in server08, it very well could be, I would run XP anyways, I have always had good luck and good stability in XP

Whats the vid on your Q6600 freaksavior according to core temp? mines 1.275v i can run 3.6ghz with just 1.360v after vdroop.
If your vids like 1.34v then ye u will probably need a bit of extra vcore than mine.

it is 1.44 (1.50 in bios)

VID is not the vCore set in the bios.

No no, VID. It's the stock voltage unique to each CPU as determined by Intel. 1.35v is the standard vCore but the VID is the ACTUAL minimum required vCore for each individual CPU as set when in testing.

Mine for example has a VID of 1.2375v, so I can run stable at stock (and oddly enough up to about 3.2GHz) with only 1.2375v full 100% load on all 4 cores.

Check it with the newest CoreTemp program?

your cpu or your cards will halt 2006.. u need to make sure at least the card or the cpu is stable.. slow the cpu done to tests the cards.. then slow the cards down to test the cpu..

yes.. the core speed is more important than the memory speed.. if the slower memory works okay try upping the core speeds a bit.. only 800 for a core seems very low to me..

but each bloody card differs.. i would say an average 3870 should do 830/1250..

but if HIS speed bin the better cores for their turbo cards.. they might well end up with crap cores for their none turbo cards.. its possible..

only 800 for a core is crap thow.. but its quite possible if speed binning goes on..

I paid no where near that! This is a pretty capable little card. Not as good as my 8800 640mb, but with less than half the memory, it's pretty darn close! I just need to find a really good deal on a 3870 now.

thats so weird!!! I would run an XP install, with the 8.2 drivers, just to see if that would work.....

i would if i could get it to detect my raid array! i am not sure what it is, but my floppy is found, loads the drivers, then cant read the floppy.
