It has to have IDE Connection, SATA Conectoin or Both. Tell us you system specs so we can see what your MotherBoard Supports.

It's pretty much a given that a IDE drive will work, but if your board supports SATA then that would be a better choice.

Sata is a serial connection, IDE is parallel.
Sata cables are thin and do not restric airflow, ide uses a fat ribbon cable.
Sata is faster than IDE.

You have an 80GB Ultra ATA/100 (IDE) hard drive.

There are no SATA ports on your computer

You need to look for an ATA/100 drive. Like this

Go here for All your computer specs

Do you have two partitions? I think all of the 1100's came with an 80GB HDD.

But even so, 80GB is pretty small these days. I would get at least a 160GB.

It's possible that your system came with only a 40GB hard drive (would show up as 35).
How much room is left on it ? If it is almost full, your performance could be taking a real hit.

If your motherboard takes SATA, that's the way to go. Like others have said, faster+cooler on your system due to the smaller cables. You may do some research though, I've read that sometimes you have to do some tinkering to get your system to recognize both a SATA and an IDE drive if you have both installed in your comp.
