Power Supply only sending 5volts on 12 volt rail.

Last month I sold a CoolerMaster 430W eXtremePower to someone. I tested it before it shipped and it was working fine. Just this week I got an e-mail from this person saying:

I just wanted to let you know the video card works well, but i needed the powersupply today only to find out it's dead!!! Still not a completly bad deal but not happy!! 5 volts comes out of a few pins but no 12 volts. the same as the dead one i took out...

I think there's been a misunderstanding here, but I don't know much about PSUs :ohwell:

Sorry if i read it wrong but is he saying that your PSU you sold him is doing the same thing has his old one ?.. Maybe the fault is else were if thats the case.

I was going to tell him/her to just put it in and connect everything. I think they would find that the PSU works. I just don't want to commit 2nd degree murder of someones Motherboard...
