Hi guys, i am new to site but in no way new to computers, i have a little mystery.
I was building my 5 year old son a PC and ordered an Asus P5E VM DO to be used in the system. From my experience building numerous systems i have the habit of assembling the whole thing outside the case first and checking that all is ok before i put it into the case so that is exactly what i did.
Problem was that the mobo just wont POST, the green light on the mobo comes on showing that power comes into it but thats where it ends ...no POST. i have tried resetting the BIOS, 2 different processors ,different rams brands and hard disks, i even tried with just the processor and ram only and using the onboad VGA to see if it will POST but nothing worked.
As soon as i used another Mobo to test (P5K) it starts woking with other stuff unchanged, so i sent the mobo back to the dealer and complained that it was defective, now i get this email saying that they have tested it with 4 different Processors and it works fine, therefore they are sending it back to me with a little bill for the testing
Any ideas what i am doing wrong that it doesnt work with me but worked with them?
thanks.
