best 22 inch monitor

I'm looking for something thats 1920x1200 and 22 inches, any suggestions?

prices does play a factor preferably 2-300 range.

I don't think you can get a 22" monitor that will go to 1920x1200, most I have seen are 1680x1050.

Edit: Yeah, you have to go to 24" to get that resolution and you probably won't find one for less than $300

I really like the Samsungs but it is amazing what you can get in even a bargain basement priced LCD nowadays. I would read reviews someplace like Newegg.

damnit... i was really hoping to not have to go up to 24 inch since the price shoots up like another 2-300 dollars... :banghead:

Thats why, I would say settle for the 1680x1050, it looks damn good and is much cheaper.

Samsungs for Gaming, 226BW Syncmaster is arguably the most popular gaming display. however I heard they use crappy panels now or was just a batch, this article is interesting.

1680x1050 is fine for gaming a friend of mine has a Samsung and rekons its the best monitor he has ever had even tho he aint the best judge lol.

100% true, I still believe they are producing them as A S and C as we speak. S is best, however I got an A and it looks nicer than any of my friends monitors hands down. Compared to 2 dells (22 and 27) and friends viewsonic. I haven't regretted my purchase one bit. :rockout:

I am using the Acer Al2223W and I love it. Best computer item that I have bought in a while. The 1680x1050 is fine, looks great and it's several hundred cheaper.

my monitor is at 1680x1050 and it looks great...i dont really see the need for anything bigger atm samsung makes really good monitors!

Yea samsungs are great, but they tend to be on the more expensive side usually. Look for a solid 22" w/ 500mc/2 brightness, 1000:1 or greater contrast, and a less than 5ms response time, and you really can't lose.

true but ya get what ya pay for most of the time...but i was lucky enough to get my monitor from circuit city when i worked there and i got employee discount

That is a ridiculous price, you can get a 26" or 27" for that. Interesting though. I bet the picture is extra crisp......

Indeed, but w/ monitors if you follow the right specs you usually end up ok. Just as long as you don't get a complete no name brand. I myself would have gotten a samsung, but they didn't have it in stock at the time. Black friday at best buy they had a samsung 22" and an envision 22" both for $150 (actually the sam was like $160). They didn't have the samsung in stock, so I took the envision, and I love it, although I'm pretty sure I would have loved the former too.

dang thats not a bad deal at all...i payed like 145 for mine

and im sure ill use it for a long time to come! prob the only im not going to upgrade for my spider :rockout:

I bought a 226BW last February and received an A model. It totally sucks for movies and picture editing, but is pretty darn awesome for gaming. I don't think you can go wrong with Samsung for a gaming monitor. 1680x1050, to me, is optimal for gaming. You get a great resolution and don't need a super fast computer to do it

+1 on the 226bw - no idea wat revison it is,altho ive read on newer models u cant tell now ?

bought mine last August and very happy with it,makes my old HannsG 19" 5ms look rather bad tbh

your correct Samsung removed the label and hidden menu there is no way to tell which Panel you will receive and to make things worst this monitor is a couple years old so nobody will be doing any reviews, memory manufactures do this all the time they take a set budget kit and change the IC from Micron D9 to Elpida or ProMOS the problem is budget memory doesn't cost $300.

I recommend reading reviews on behardware they are experts on Displays right down to every nook and cranny.

The 22inch samsung i have has been pretty good to me, it was actually too bright when i first got it and had to turn down the brightness. Haven't really had any problems with it and its been great for gaming. I just don't use those crummy speakers that it came with
