Summer Temps

I think I should replace all the fans in my case sooner rather than later in hopes it helps the temps a bit.

The last few days been relatively easy with the 70-80F degree temps. I don't use my AC unless it gets above 85F. I know my main rig hates me because my PC room is in the attic/3rd floor

On nice toasty days, it can be a 30F temp difference between the 3rd floor & basement but the basement has 12 tiny windows & its too dark down there for me :cool:

Compare that to the 6 giant windows that the single PC room has & you'll know why I'm up there :roll:

On my main WC rig, my temps went from 35/48 on a 68F day to 42/56 on a 81F day. Today was only 55F so my temps were 25/40. I usually have atleast one window open all the time up here but on the 81F day I had all six open

Summer was the reason I moved my rig to the bedroom.

My CPU temperature is always like 10-12 degrees higher than ambient, and in summer the temperature in an un-airconditioned room reached 35 degrees which meant idling temperature of CPU would be 45-47 degrees.

In A/C bedroom the temperature would be 25 degrees giving me idle cpu temps of approx 36 degrees.

My AMD Phenom 9850 black Hits 50c under FULL LOAD.... Fan cooled thou... That's at 3.1Ghz.. In a room with a saltwater reef tank at 90% humidity lol.... Kinda feels like the Ausi rain Forrest

iv had a whopping 2c increase across the board on my ilde temps, about 5c higher under load.

55c on my cores @ 4.2ghz isnt that bad is it???

but guys whats the big fuss over 2-5 C increase in temps, in my case i am still more than 30 C below tjunction temps and most of you with C2D are same too so whats the hysteria about?? summer is only for a few months let your heatsink fans work for the good money you spent on them and stop caressing them , its times like these you will appreciate your investments.

I invested in one of these portable aircon units for those warm muggy UK summer nights, works a treat if I want to do some benching, it will get my little study's room temps down to around 17C no matter how hot or humid it is, even cooler if it's not too hot a day.

Hopefully all works out, and your breakfast too. If it helps, I have seen a few reviews that state OCZ Freeze does a better job than AS5, might switch my AS5 to this. Might not bother though, my temps not lookin so bad.

absoloutley cooking - my laptop had a thermal shutdown a few nights ago due to it being so hot in my room

this was while i was playing guildwars & F@H at the same time & also while the Zalman laptop cooler underneath was going full blast. ive since removed the panel underneath my lappy so the cool air get blown directly over the lappy components instead.

my pc is fine so far. probably a 4-8'c differance from usual usually its 28'c idle but now its more like 30'c+ idle but it never goes up to 40'c under load more like 35-38'c
