Hi,

This afternoon I bought a ST LAB radeon 9550, 256MB DDR ... 128Bit
Not the fastest card I know, but the price I got it for was quite nice ;-)

Anyway, I've been thinking about bios modding it to a 9600

So I've looked at the type of memory chips, and they are of the following type:

Xtreme Technology
16MX16CT-3

To be honest, I never heard of Xtreme Technology chips ...
I believe they are 3ns, but I don't know which bios I have to take

Maybe somebody can help me with this problem?
Thanx in advance!

greets

hi gNsis, welcome to tPU.com ;)

to your question: honestly, I don't know. got a pic of one of those mem chips? I agree with you, the "-3" suggests a 3ns rating...

3ns, lucky... nice 9550!!

Most of us that picked up Powercolor 9550 got Mira 5ns

3ns can be overclocked much higher.. it will make that card a very nice value for the money!!!

Hmm.. good card you've got there.. a 3ns memory chip.. man, you're lucky.. :D

Anyway.. maybe you could try out most of the BIOS with 3ns chip config.. if the card won't boot, slot in another PCI card and re-flash the AGP one.. :D One thing you should do is that to overclock you card to near the speed of 9600 cards with 3ns memory speed.. so according the the memory chip, you could probably clock the mem to over 330+MHz (SDR)...
