There is nothing out there yet. RBE recognizes the 4850 but there are no fan control options yet either.

I found the Asus BIOS out there but no fan controls... DANG. Guess we wait for RivaTuner to update?

For now, remove the blue wire for 100% fan speed or get an aftermarket cooler. I'm sure someone will have a fix for rivatuner in a week or two. With the Asus bios though, you can use Asus' utility to control the fan!

No, really there is no fix. I wouldn't recommend flashing the bios on the card at this time anyway. Aftermarket cooling is the way to go, as I believe this cooler most likely heats up the memory!

Asus has a utility that only works with their cards and you can use it to OC and change fan speeds.

Something that hasn't been noted yet is that EA and SEGA are signed on with us for DX10.1 titles, we've also signed a fairly major deal with Blizzard.

I flashed my Visiontek card to the Asus BIOS and the Asus SmartDoctor or whatever software it's called works great to control the fan. Set at 50% it seems to blend in with my Antec 900 fans set at medium and idle temps stay around 43 deg and load around 73. deg Highly recommended as long as you have some experience flashing BIOS. There are threads with the exact method out there. If you can't afford or feel uncomfortable changing the cooling solution, this is a great way to help at least!

Unfortunately not. The stock voltage is very low.

Heres use this BIOS. It will ramp up the fan starting at 0% at 40C upto 100% at 90C. I also created it from the new MSI BIOS so it has better 2d clocks. 160mhz/500mhz. You need to disable ati overdrive for the 2d clocks to work properly.

Use at your own risk, but its the one I am using at the moment.

How hard is to to flash a BIOS? What are the chances that it will brick it? I was going to try and flash mine with the Asus BIOS but I didn't yet. I just got the card.. I would like it to stay working...

Extremely ulikely that youll brick it. A bad flash can always be undone. If you have a motherboard with 2 pci-express slots itll be easy with another card. Otherwise you'll have to do a blind flash.

To give you an idea of how often bad flases occur, its never happened to me. Ive done about 30 or so flashes on my previous HD3850 and about half a dozen on my current HD4850.

Make sure you close catalyst control center, any 3d intensive software, and simply use ati winflash.
