i used to be a reviwer, trust me, you wont be getting ES samples until you're as big as tomshardware, [h] or ashentech.

For now, start reveiwing by asking local stores/e-tailers for samples, even if you ahve to return them after the review. Its how you get reviews done before anyone sends you anything.

get a team up, you'll get there faster. Get a video card reviewer, a case reviewer, a monitor reviewer and such. Theres no point being a case reviewer if you dont have a PC to go in it, for example (what happens if you get a mATX case, but have no micro boards?)

keep things like that in mind, aim for quality over quantity and you'll get up in no time.

Chinese website Coolaler.com has access to an engineering sample of the upcoming Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 processor. This processor is based on the 45nm Wolfdale core and features a total of 2 MB L2 cache. It has a default 200 MHz FSB and 12.5 x FSB multiplier and clock-speed of 2.50 GHz. Owing to this high multiplier and the Wolfdale design, this chip facilitates high overclocks, Coolaler.com has been able to take this chip to 4.00 GHz core with a FSB of 320 MHz and Vcore of 1.384 V. More than impressive for a budget processor.

For gaming it's way more about the video card than some extra CPU cache anyway. Save on the CPU and spend the extra on the next fastest video card.

Within reason, of course. Don't be gaming with a 9800GX2 and a 1.6 GHz Celeron now.

my guess is these are the E2xxx replacements as 7xxxx replaces the e4xxx and e8xxx replaced the e6xxx. Now this means the Celerons get 1mb of L2 and get called E3xxx?

I agree but not everyone uses their CPU exclusively for games!

The reason why I asked earlier how much the cheapest E8200 costs in the US is because I can get mine to almost 4.5gig and thats gotta be damn cost effective also and it has the full 6mb L2 on tap

The e8200s are about $174 in the US. Might be slightly cheaper in other places, but really it's only $10 less than the e8400, making the e8400 the "might as well."

the E8400 is the new E6600. The E7200 is the new E6300 or E4400, this new E5xxx chip here will be the E2180 replacement in terms of OCing and love

Damn that is little difference....why would anyone in their right mind go for the 8200 for only a $10 difference, Intel clearly dont wanna sell these

Hmmmm, seems it's not stable at 1.384v, as in the rest of the tests he does at 4ghz he requires 1.505v, not as impressive to me anymore

In the UK these seem to be about £65, although few places have stock. The e7200s are £70-£75, so it seems like this CPU isn't worth it. If it were ~£50 then it would be a compelling CPU.
