Help with 8500 Gt 512 Mb

GO into the TPU download database and download Ccleaner. It has a uninstall cleaner that most of the time cleans the reg. Just just their uninstall and then use the reg. cleaner... A lot of times with Ccleaner and it being your first time using it, the reg scan will take some time... Then just go threw the motion of on screen pop-ups and you'll be set.

This 177.66 driver seems to suck ass. My fur bench dropped in half. Both gpu's are enabled in sli. I'm still trying to figure this out/tweak. Do I need to download cuda to make this work?

I tried, but it didn't draw ANY Shadows.

And, about the drivers, i updated them, and the problem is still there!! :banghead:

I'm thinking about changing the card...

apparently there are 3 reasons going around why this happends and there is no fix for any of them. you have a 8500gt disabling shadows is a good thing besides the only benefit is snipers on a roof and in order to be effective the player model has to be half way off the roof to show the barrel shadow (noobs) you can try installing the oldest drivers that support the 8500GT but I don't think it will help.

The default resolution for Shadows in Crysis is 1024, I know this because I turned them down to 768 in the .ini

but as for another EA published game, Mass Effect has a shadow res of only 32 :O

also, try turning Edge AA to 2 (think it's in the System.ini), it should help with the pixelated shadows

and as for the "irregular" borders I think it's just the shadows blur at work

Crysis plays excellent, but its now quircky. If I pause it, it won't save full screen, or it reboots my computer. :rolleyes:

Never happened before. Is there known issues with crysis and 177.66 drivers?

With the new drivers, some have talked about Crysis being problem mat tic.... But, I don't use video cards for games... so I really don't have any problems unless its due to benching or rendering.

What do you do with your video cards? I'm at 1.1 patch on crysis, maybe I will try 1.2

I do a lot of rendering, and multi tasking on that sort.. Gaming is like the last thing I do. Only as a thing to take the stress out if I can't work out or throw around my kendo sticks.
I would try the patches and so forth.. I never had a problem with my Gx2, so I never used the patches.. but because of my step-up I never was able to use these drivers... lol.. But they work good on a 8400gs! lol

Yeah, I've added the Physx to my card. I like it a lot. It makes games like Unreal and GOW run like a babies butt... Anything else you need to know my man?

DL the drivers from Guru3d, and then download the Nvidia Physx from Guru3d also. Then, if the card is a G92 or G200, core card, it works. After you have the Nvidia Physx in, you can find it under Nvidia Corporation in the {Start Up}.

Yeah, it does.. Well if the game is supported by the Physx, then it kicks on when you play.. I can play Unreal tournament 3 lag free at 64fps while doing multi person death match of over 8 people.. If the card can handle it, its the best thing around. And I say handle because the GX2 could do anything and everything.. Just hoping I can get my gtx by this weekend...
