Heyy i was wondering i have a 250 gig Seagate and wanted to partition it in to two parts one part pretty much just big enough for the OS and a little extra space for future updates and stuff and the rest for games and other things. I'm planning on installing vista here soon and was wondering whats a good size for the OS partition to be and is it better to partition it before or after the install of vista

Make the Vista partition 30GB. My Vista x64 is eating 20GB, with 10GB left for future updates.

My vista partition is only 14gb, and it still has 3 gb left for updates. If you are pressured for space(ie u have 250gb of movies/music/files) then make small as possible, otherwise ~20 should be fine

I partitioned afterward and haven't had any issues to date. Used paragon and PartitionMagic both seemed to give me no problems.
