What kind of frames are we talking about? What resolution are you running at? Is your CPU overclocked at all?

If you haven't already I'd recommend trying to overclock the cpu a bit, to see if that helps. I wouldn't think it would bottleneck that much, but it may help.

They are using a much faster processor than you. It may be due to your processor, as other than that I don't see many issues.

The stock clock speed on a 3800+ x2 is 2000mhz,the clock speed on the 5200+ x2 is 2700mhz.so the chip is not the issue.

Maybe you should google first before commenting, the 5200 is faster stock than the 3800,so is not in fact much faster.

yeah, the 4850 is faster than my card, i can play those games max settings smooth frames, except crysis, it goes about ~25 FPS. Overclocking probably wont do you much good, you probably have a card. Can you check to see how many 06marks you can acheive? If we know that, we can see if your 4850 is equivelant to others.
Also, if you are running like 16x/16x, or something crazy like that, that is probably your problem.
i run 1920x1200, but on your resolution i could do very high all settings, 8x/16x and have close to max FPS on crysis.

9500 does seem to be a bit low,can you oc your 5200+ chip?

I don't know how to do this!
But I think this problem doesn't solve with overclock!
Someone says this problem is because of your mainboard because your MB doesn't support PCI-Ex 2.0!

IMO the low performance can greatly be attributed to the CPU. Looks like the CPU is "bottlenecking" your machines performance.

Another thing to look at is your PSU. I've read a solid 450W PSU is a bare minimum for an HD4850 build.

CPU shouldnt be bottle necking. I run CoD 4 fine with my 3800x2 processor. do you have a lot of programs open?

Your CPU Score is very low. I think you must overclock it a bit. Also you have to make sure you don't have any forced AA or AF in CCC. Secondly, make sure you're using latest drivers, especially for motherboard.

especially for motherboard.

MB Driver?!

Also you have to make sure you don't have any forced AA or AF in CCC.

What?more explanation please!

Your CPU Score is very low. I think you must overclock it a bit

According to post 5 in this thread I think this problem isn't from my CPU!

They are using a much faster processor than you. It may be due to your processor, as other than that I don't see many issues.

Their Cpu is much faster than my cpu and they frame rate is 80 fps!
and I don't want 80 fps.I want at least 40 fps and I think this isn't a high request from my system!
for example before I'm buying 4850 I have a bfg 8600gt oc and I have 22-23 fps in the highest quality in the COD4 and for now I have 30-40 fps in this game with very frame rate drop!!!
It seems my problem isn't from my psu and vga and ram.
and post 5 says it isn't from my cpu.
all the paths are straight to my MB but I don't know what to do!

Benchmark Scores 2cm mark on bench with a razor blade.
After reading this I ran through COD4 and ran through the first 3 parts of Act II.

I was getting 42 at least in game and 60fps much of the time with all settings on high x4 AA @ 1440x900.
Although there were rare instances where I would get a half a second pause which sometimes drops my frames by 10 this never happened with my 8800GT so I think it may be an ATi thing with this game, plus I haven't patched COD4 yet.

My motherboard is PCI-E 1.0 so it cannot be the PCI-E version.

I get 9232 or something like that in 06' with the CPU @2.4Ghz stock so I think your score might be a bit low.
But then again I think your CPU cache size is smaller than my CPU.
I was able to get 9998 @ 2.7Ghz with my 8800GT so I should be able to get higher with my CPU overclocked with my HD4850 but I don't see a difference in game to make it a good enough reason to overclock.

So you do not need to overclock your CPU.
Maybe it's the chipset drivers or your BIOS up to date.
Make sure your settings in CCC are default.

Yes, I had MB driver in mind. About CCC (Catalyst Control Center), you can force AA or AF there. For example, if you set 8xMSAA in CCC, you'll get 8xMSAA in game even if you set there 4xMSAA. If I were you, I'd also update my MB's BIOS to the latest one.

All settings are default.

Maybe it's the chipset drivers or your BIOS up to date.

My bios revision is 2001 and it's the last bios in the asus website.

however any idea about post 17.

I don't get it.*

To the OP. Your system should be fine. Did you have an Nvidia card previously? What drivers are you using for your video card?

Sorry, but are you on crack?

No as an X6800 is MUCH faster clock for clock than a 5200 X2. I'm not crazy, read the link that op posted.

If you noticed it's his cpu score which is so low, a 2k cpu score on 3dmark06.

If you're confused on the link i speak of. Here is the link directly to what the computer he's comparing it to is.

No one EVER mentioned an x6800... He did say 3800+. Did you misread or am I missing something?

Hey lets relax a bit here and reread things through b4 we tell members they are on "crack"!

Going back through myself, you are exactly correct. The OP wants to assume he should perform as the link in post #5 which the testbed is on an intel CPU.:toast:
