Installing now. Got it at Gamestop. I hate how they put their dumbass stickers all over brand new games. Makes it feel non-new. Anyway, I shall report back with my results.

25fps is not bad at all, does the old crysis benchmark app work with this? see what you get in dx9 mode

I also can't wait for this game to come out. I enjoyed the first one a lot and this one looks to be even better. From my understanding this takes place at the same time as the first one, just from a different point of view, correct?

Correct, well.. it takes place from the other side of the island. You play a solder named Psycho this time around. :rockout:

Looks a lot like more of the same, should still be good though. Any A.I differences? Those who have played the game what are the main things that sets this apart from Crysis?

I'm getting 25 solid fps with everything at maximum settings, no AA with my 4870 at stock settings.

I am barely getting 20 FPS, more often its 12-15 :banghead:

Even on Gamer settings I still only get 32fps max, in vanilla Crysis I averaged almost 50 on High, 1440x900 no AA.

I thought this was supposed to run better?

Im thinking about trying those 8.9betas.... but I was hoping this time I could just double click and play. Guess not.... Such is the life of a PC gamer. ;)

EDIT: It seems the bad guy is DX10... again. Forced DX9 by adding -dx9 to my steam WH launch properties and now I have my usual 35-45FPS back. Also I can still use Enthusiast settings with little framerate loss over Gamer and it still looks exactly like it does in DX10.

I did just the 1st level last night and the game rocks. I get a solid 30fps 1680x1050 which is completely playable. E6750 8800GT XP stock, no AA all Gamer settings.
Looks great, plays great, cool game.

Basically exactly like they did with the original Crysis. I updated my drivers to 8.9's and it helped a little. I'm getting 25-35fps in 1680x1050 DX10 - 32bit, Gamer settings. With DX9 I'm sure I will get 10 more FPS easily. DX9 is a whole different world framerate wise.

The nice thing in DX9 with Warhead is you can still use Enthusiast settings which look exactly like Enthusiast settings in DX10. :D. My brother has a 3870x2, and it seems to handle DX9 enthusiast no problem.

Only played the first bit of the game but so far it seems to be a great step forward by Crytek. The combat is much more intense the AI seems a little better and the new Micro Machine guns are friggen sweet. You can unload 80 bullets in a few seconds! Makes for some pretty crazy close range combat. The game seems to run better than the first one as well which is an added bonus.

I bought it today, it's glitchy, when I'm fighting Koreans the screen turns a milky color and I can't see what the hell I'm shooting at.

No need to post things like this, especially when the game was designed for nVidia cards.

I agree... if it wasn't for the milky action stuff at least. As for just running around punching trees in the jungle it runs far smoother than the first Crysis did.
