486 Overclocking Competition

Rules:
1. Highest OC Speed/Stock Speed Ratio Wins.
2. Must be 368, 486, Pentium 1, K6 (NOT K6-2 or 3), or a Cyrix processor with a clock speed of less than 200mhz.
3. Must post screenshot or picture of overclock in bios.

mmm i made it to 166mhz and almost 200...

but I think 200 will be the most anyone will do. this competition wont go far... theres only 6 speeds... 66, 100, 133, 166, 200, 233.

K6's and Cyrix CPU's under 200mhz will be fine. No K6-2's or K6-3's though.

allrighty lemme dig the thing up...i actually had xo running on the cyrix for a couple days. i benchmarked the mp3 encoding... well 4 days 3 hours and 27minutes later it was done with the 60m cd...

you always call bullshit. and its not impossible at all. i did a similar think with a k6 once too. its easy to call bullshit in threads like this because the technology is so old many wont have screenshots anymore but just recall from memory.

There is a big difference between a 486 and an AMD K6....

This should be kept strictly to 486 or below. The pentium 1 is the 586, and a lot more advanced.

No, it shouldnt be kept 486 and below. Yes, the pentium 1 is a lot more advanced, but the processor with the highest stock clock to overclocked clock ratio wins, not the highest clock. If it was just the 486 and below, hardly anyone would be able to compete. This is just a fun competition, and the rules will be loose.

I rember buring out 386s and 486s with a clean 120v, they go in smoke and it makes this aful smell... I miss high school, elctroincs class was so fun. I rember haveing a p1 166 MMX running at 233 but i dont have any picks of it. It ran XP with 96m of ram on a 10gig hdd. With some kind of nvida PCI Vid card and a Certaive Soundblaster 128 (i still have the sound card). I cant wait for my grandfater to finally give up his 486DX system, the fun i will have with it.

well ten years ago i had a couple of cyrixes.. the first one was a pr 200 with clock speed 175 i think.. a tweaked 166 out of the box.. the second was an ibm/cyrix hybrid.. a pr 300 with clock speeds of something like 226 or so..

they dissapeared long ago thow and i discovered the blue screen of death several times a day wasnt "normal"... he he he he
