DFI LANParty DK P55-T3eH9 Detailed
DFI's retail-grade pack of motherboards for socket LGA-1156 platform will be lead by the LANParty Dark P55-T3eH9. Dressed in black and orange, the P55-T3eH9 sports a fairly standard feature-set for the Intel P55 chipset. The CPU socket is powered by a 6+2 phase VRM, and is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots for dual-channel memory. Expansion slots include three PCI-Express x16, depending on what's under the heatsink south of the CPU socket, the orange slots could be (dual x16 or x8). The black slot looks like PCI-E x4, wired to the PCH. Two PCI-E x1 and PCI slots make for the rest of the expansion.
Apart from all the features the P55 PCH provides, including six SATA II ports, an additional controllers add two SATA II, an eSATA and one IDE connector for two devices. Connectivity is care of one gigabit Ethernet controller, and a number of USB ports, including one mini-USB. A high-grade HD audio codec also provides digital audio connectivity through optical and coaxial SPDIF connectors. The LANParty Dark P55-T3eH9 is expected to be priced at 175€. http://www.techpowerup.com/img/09-08-24/128a_thm.jpg http://www.techpowerup.com/img/09-08-24/128b_thm.jpg Source: GinjFo |

The design on the heatsinks reminds me of the London 2012 olympics logo, only less craptastic.
Decent slot placement on this board but i have to ask - what devices out there use mini usb connections (since this board has one)? I know phones and other devices use it but they always come with USB2> mini usb cables (i've never seen a mini>mini cable before) i'd have thought leaving the usb as standard size would have given maximum flexability. |
^ mini USB does seem entirely useless. i googled it, but it wasnt anything special.
it just doesnt make sense like you said - why not leave it normal sized? |
REally like the colors of the board. Looks like it is going to be sweet!
|
i dont understand why they put a fake northbridge heatsink
is maybe to charge more for the board? |
So that the heat will be released more fast?
|
Looks like a nice board, seems DFI gives lots of love to the Intel side :(
|
lol!
DFI P55 TECH9 mobo will shoot all others down  it looks exactly the same layout as the x58-t3eh8 but it has orange instead of green and a 1156 socket instead of 1366. |
poor DFI they haven't been the same since X58 was launched they have become a second tier company they really need to get it together.

it's only a supposition because their X58 lineup is horrible. I don't think this is going to be any better.

Don't you guys read anything on this site?
The mini USB connector was announced back at Computex. It's there so you can flash upgrade the BIOS from a second computer/notebook. It's a damn good idea, as it even works if the BIOS is dead (unless the physical chip is broken). One of the best additions I've seen in a long time on motherboards. |

that does make sense. and i like it. |

i'm talking about X58. I own 2 DFI Boards (DFI LP JR P45 and DFI LP UT P48)
|
the x58 dfis are very good. you saying they weren't?

well you know as with anything i speak of its because i have had first hand experience with almost all of the x58s
|
I haven't heard many complaints in recent times from DFI owners. It seemed that most of the board makers had some troubles with x58 at release anyway, DFI wasn't the only one. These things happen with new products.
|
the only thing as far as i know of why the x58 line of DFI may suck was the high rma rate of the DK board. Other than that, they are like any other DFI and by that i mean AWESOME
|
Ive been hunting around the past couple days for possible upgrades and the i5/i7 is in the lineup. I was looking at the x58 DFI's (as i love DFI) and everyoen says that the boards have a high RMA rate.
Im actually sorry i didnt pick up a DFI P45 when I had the chance. Now that they are going to be releasing a P55, I might just jump on the i5 bandwagon soon. |
