To those who know Sound- which 2.1 set is better ?

I got these 2 chinese Divoom speakers on sale over here, which is better according to specs and build ?

http://www.divoom.com/X1.htm

or

http://www.divoom.com/r3.htm

slyfox2151 Jan 3, 2010 08:10 AM

fairly certain http://www.divoom.com/X1.htm is the better system.

TVman Jan 3, 2010 08:16 AM

first one has better bass and the second one has better sound overall!!! if i was you i would go with http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/sp...231&cl=roeu,en

Fif23 Jan 3, 2010 08:21 AM

Hmm thanks but these DIVOOMS are wayyy cheaper (around 50$) than the Logitech..
So go with the X1 ?
Why does the Revo3 have better sound ?

Batou1986 Jan 3, 2010 08:21 AM

the first one is a clone of the logitec set they prob use identical componets

jjFarking Jan 3, 2010 08:24 AM

The X1 has a better signal to noise ratio, as well as higher peak handling.
Both are rated 20-20000Hz, which, considering the size of the woofers in particular, I would take with a grain of salt.
Or a barrel load of salt even ;)
You're more likely to actually get about 35-18000Hz out of that system. If you're going to be using it mainly for MP3s, then it doesn't matter anyway :p

Regardless, the X1 is better .. on paper at least :)

EDIT: I concur with TVman on the Logitech speakers. As it happens, I have that set.

logitech, my divoom X1 blew after 3 weeks of constant use at low volume, i got a logitech x530 as replacement, much better, divoom are cheap, and powerful but lack quality as they feel cheap

You get what you pay for. Practically every audiophile and gamer I know has a Logitech set. I have X-540s. When I set up my HTPC, it will have Z-5500s.

Wow that was a deal breaker right there boss, BLEW UP ? LOL.

These are also on sale: Altec Lansing VS2621.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/images/i...345/615967.jpg

Will they be better than the X1/R3 ?

DirectorC Jan 3, 2010 08:56 AM

Altec Lansing is right up there with Logitech. Before I bought these Logitechs I was still using an ages-old Altec Lansing set and it was great. That set will deliver about as much power as the Divoom sets but will be of much greater quality. Thumbs up.

Fif23 Jan 3, 2010 09:26 AM

Cool, if I go with the Altec it's gonna be strictly because of the brand and quality..
The X1 Divoom are 10RMS per sat vs Altec 7.5, signal to noise in the altec >65 vs >95 of the x1, and subwoofer 13 vs 30.

HMM, anyone with the Altecs want to comment on the sound quality ?

TVman Jan 3, 2010 09:48 AM

i had some altec lansing 2.1 speakers(what i accidentally fried when i was drunk) and they had a very good sound but as a person how now owns logitech speakers i would not buy any other brand(i own X-230)

For that price i would rather spend tiny bit more to get 5.1 surround sound or spend the money on upgrading his current rig.

If you want really good 2.1 speakers i would recommend the Logitech Z-4 they are absolute beauty for 2.1,much cheaper than the Z2300 and the subs are amazing and sound is crisp and clean from the 2 speakers.

DreamSeller Jan 3, 2010 10:13 AM

better go with a 2.0 system ^^ my 2 cents but from those ofc 1st one ))

Mussels Jan 3, 2010 10:43 AM

both those divooms are really low powered, and look like cheap knockoffs. X1 looks the best of the two.

i would say logitech/altec lansing over those any day. save up the extra money, get a decent set so that you dont regret it.

How loud are you planning on going with your setup?

I dunno if it matters or not but the Creative has a very clear sound and really cheap but woofer aint all powerfull just 17Watt something instead of 40watts.....

Its a Creative M2600 Dunno if its there or not but something close to it would be good too.

Fif23 Jan 3, 2010 09:24 PM

Thanks guys !
I think i'll go with either the X-230 or the ALTEC LANSING ATP3 (older model than what above, heard it was higher quality)

Deal ?
