Multi card reader help.

Hi all i have been given a few spare pc parts and one of these parts is a Multi card reader, Its out of an old compaq pc.
Now i have never bothered with anything like this before and i have no idea if i can even get it working in my pc... (This is where i need your help hehe).
Would i be right in thinking the connection on this thing is universal? and runs maybe of a usb connector on my mobo? or do i need some sort of dedicated thing to plug it into.

From what i can see there are 4 main wires so im guessing they would be named simler to this (VCC / DX- / DX+ / GND. << this is the layout and names that are given in my mobo book for usb.

VCC is pin 1 / DX- pin 3 / DX+ pin 5 / GND pin 7..

Basicly im asking if there is anyway to get it working.
Thanks for any replies

white wire i guess = DX-
