I know I have some stability testing to do, but damn. I can't believe the mix of speed and temps here. Despite the lack of memory dividers for fine tuning, Sandy Bridge is just crazy...and this is the best Biostar board I've ever worked with, not to mention the cooling power of the Venomous-X with dual gentle typhoons.

Good voltage and temps, I'd go for 24/7 with that. I too am loving my sandybridge. Even the dual channel bandwidth is blowing away what I had with triple on my 1366.

I'd bring that voltage down a touch. 32nm is rather frail when it comes down to core volts.

Try doing a LinX run with AVX enabled (if you have SP1 installed) and full memory...thought my setup was good for 5 until I almost had a meltdown after two passes of that!

Wow, that is an unreal OC, especially with it only being on air (even though it is a high quality cooler). I wonder how it does on a stock cooler.
Looks like 32nm is going to be a nice OCing stretch when more of them come out :D

SP are you thinking it's a 2600K? All 4 cores are crunching at 100%. Didn't run it long though. I have WCG set to run at startup, and it's a good way to show that it MAY be close to relative stability if I don't BSOD in the first couple of minutes. I'm gonna play with higher speeds and stability after the kids go to bed.

There are 2 ways to clock these chips on most boards, through turbo on each individual core or through the fixed multiplier. I use the multi. If only one core was used, you would see a drastic disparity between one core and the rest.

That's true. However, the stock cooler cannot handle more than 4.1 or so on full load.

There were some peole saying that 1.5v was supposed to be "safe". However, what I'm hearing from enthusiast that I trust is that 1.375v is the safe 24/7 max, with 1.42 or so max for bench runs. It's still early in the game, so who knows. I don't think I'm taking the voltages any higher though. I'm rock stable at 4.7ghz 1.28v

can I see a bios shot? just a tad confused, I wasn't aware the "usual" multiplier would even go that high;)

You need to get the SandyBridge reviewer kit, with the new CPU-Z, 1.56.1.

There are also other tools that are set for sandybridgge, using any other tools released previous to those contained in the package is suspect.

When you disable turbo, then you clock via the core ratio limit, each core independently. Plenty to play with still. Plus they just released a pretty new EUFI bios. Screenies for that later too.

EDIT: New bios is not the restructured EUFI, just a fix. Still a couple of weeks out. Think it's suppose to have a gun metal color scheme.

SB is pretty nice for high daily air clocks... I run my 2500K at X48 while "crunching" and the chip can run/bench higher. SB is also much cooler than Bloomfield/Nehalem.

Wow that is BEAST. I'm actually a fan of Biostar boards. The TP67XE appears to be an awesome board, especially when you see its only $159. If I were to move to SB right now (and believe me.. I'm thinking about it), I'd go with the ASRock Extreme 4. It has a ton of fan headers which I can't live without, great overclocking potential, good build quality, and its affordable.
