The Packard Bell machines I have come across were total rubbish.
Then NEC started making them...still total rubbish. Then they made it even worse by stopping support in the Southern Hemisphere so if drivers were needed we had to scavenge for them elsewhere. Maybe they will be able to make a come back with these monitors. |
1920 x 1200 or GTFO.

I hear that Packard Bell is being made by Acer now. Great......:banghead:

Packard Bell??? LOL...I thought they vanished a long time ago. Monitor does look nice though.

What a name from the past....I thought that company died lol.

Packard Bell is a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Acer.
Originally the company produced discount computers in the US and Canada, it later became a leader in the European market. NEC took it over in the late 1990s. Acer acquired it in 2008. How can such a rubbish company own eMachines and Packard Bell as well.
They must be making the cash due to the average consumer going. Wow that's cheap! |

isn't this is just a re-branded monitor? Acer released it awhile ago, and now they own Packard, and threw their name on it as a new product?

major blast from the past... I never really trusted Packard Bell when they made computers and I don't trust 95% of things made by Acer (or its subsidiaries), so this monitor is (at least) a double fail to me.

I'm with everybody else that hasn't heard the words "Packard Bell" since before we heard the word "internet".
