Thermaltake, leading DIY thermal solutions brand, launch their newest and up to date most powerful CPU cooler, the Frio OCK. Continuing the legacy of the award winning original Frio cooler, the Frio OCK is yet once again setting new standards in the industry. With a whooping heat dissipation capacity of 240W this powerful cooler is clearly leading the pack. The dual-fan module is not only unique by its looks, but furthermore offers several practical usage advantages. Both fans are designed to work in tandem as a push-pull-combination where one fan pushes cold air over the tower fins, while the other fan on the opposite site pulls out hot air and then exhausts it through the cases back side. A convenient single fan speed control knob adjusts both fans in parallel to guarantee optimized airflow and maximize cooling efficiency. The 130 mm high pressure OC fans can be tuned between 1200 RPM for normal operation and up to 2100 RPM in OC mode and under mission critical circumstances when in 24/7 operation.

As usual with top-notch Thermaltake products, particular attention is paid to ease-of-use, convenience and an overall satisfying user experience. Therefore the Frio OCK supplies a universal installation kit which is meant to keep users future ready for current CPU sockets, including the recently launched Sandy Bridge 1155 sockets. Ummm its ugly...

Recently launched 1155 socket

I have a few observations.

- Setting new standards? Uh, where?
- Leading the pack? Okay... heh, pack.
- Dual fan layout unique? Yeah, I've never seen that configuration before...
- TT products and top notch mentioned in a positive way in the same sentence?
- Overclocking king because of that cooler. Yeah... no.

I do, and I tell ya, while the style may not be on point for everyone, there are a few things in this cooler that companies will be copying. Pretty odd for a manufacturer of crap to be setting the bar isn't it? Although I guess those who talk through the rear end really cant see what they are talking about now can they;)

Seems like a worthless hunk of plastic. Those shrouds are so fugly. Doubt that this is going to be a good cooler. BTW, when is the last time Thermaltake released a genuinely good product...?

The one I tested says you are wrong;) Its funny how everyone makes so many snap judgments on a name alone.

I don't bash the cooler, I bash the promo text. The cooler may be good, but the way they advertise it upsets me. They're talking of that thing as its the most bestest cooler there is, totally unique and generally better than everyone else.

Like the two fans. Whats so unique about them? 130mm dimension? That doesn't make it unique.
Also, claiming that one would become OC king just because of that cooler well I dunno, seems a liiiitle bit too confident, no?

The cooler might even really be the best damn cooler there is, but the way TT advertises its stuff, I just can't take that seriously.

But I don't think of TT as a total crap company. They make pretty good PSUs, I have a few and they kick ass.

thermaltake makes my fav psu's still i just think the name of this thing alone makes it ridiculous and i will make fun of it. things that make this perform well are the ugly fan shrouds. the number of heatpipes and size.

Like I said those who don't have one, will make generalizations. I have one and disassembled it, and I am telling you this has tricks and it isn't based on the "basic" tower.;)

i read a review on it the noctua and a couple other coolers still beat it...

my generalization was tt coolers are not that great and this one does not change that? even if it is an improvement over the FRIO or V1 doesn't make it good.

ok then, so on par with a Noctua cooler isn't good? Granted it isnt great, but you are talking about less than a degree difference in real world testing, as in a case with real ambients. So essentially it makes it a top tier cooler by default.

i want to see it with a full 240w load on it personally this review doesn't test that. the noctua is still king i am more curious how a dual fan xiggy compares or maybe an old TRUE dual fan


i bet my modded CM V10 would destroy it in temps but it has a diff tec in it.

this cooler is on par with a Noctua, I am telling you this as tested knowledge, so now its just noise level, and looks;)

Also that review is poop, and with no mention of ambients I cant even compare any of his coolers to each other:D

it can be THE BEST cooler in the whole WORLD but there's no way in hell i'd buy it.
