The be quiet! Dark Power Pro PSU series stands out in particular due to its intelligent, innovative cable management. This creates new space as not all cable lines for possible computer configurations can be connected to the PSU unit. The refitting and upgrading of old computers from standard PC solutions to highly efficient high-end gaming PCs is made simpler by the flexible and numerous plug-in and detachable connecting cables. Other striking features are the many advantages provided for users in the form of the three performance packs "Service Plus", "Thermo Control" and "High Efficiency".
The suggested retail prices exclusive VAT of the be quiet! Dark Power Pro PSUs available as from March 2006 are as follows: € 77,50 (430 Watts); € 94,75 (530 Watts) and € 129,20 (600 Watts).
The Service Plus Pack includes a 3-year warranty, multi language manuals as well as technical email support at firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition our be quiet! service hotline +49 (0) 40 736 76 86 - 44 is available to end consumers and users on weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
The Thermo Control Pack contains the ECASO (Enhanced Cooling After System Off) as safe overheating protection for installed components. When a computer is in stand-by mode, the thermo-electronics regulates a 3-minute follow-up of the quiet-running, 120 mm Silent Wing PSU fan and a maximum of 3 case fans directly connectable to the PSU. Depending on the mainboard version, the tacho signal (rpm) of the PSU fan can be read out via an additional connecting cable.
The Top Efficiency Pack provides the user with extremely high efficiency of over 80% at 50% load, which helps to reduce energy costs considerably. Active PFC with PF of up to 0.99 ensures the stabilisation and improvement of output voltages. The PSUs of the be quiet! Dark Power Pro series are also produced in accordance with ROHS guidelines. Technically, in accordance with the ATX12V 2.2 specification, two separate 12V lines ensure the independent power supply of the CPU. Two 6-pin PCI-Express VGA connectors and a P8 connector for dual server mainboards are included. Up to six SATA drives can be connected simultaneously to a be quiet! Dark Power Pro PSU.
eek thats alot of pci-e modular connectors... also ive been trying to figure out this for months but wats a active pfc?
Google is your friend :D
For a better technical over view of PSUs and active PFC , try the link below and read about "Myths" and "Terminology".
FWIW, if ATI's PSU program is like Nvidia's, it's a waste of time IMO and can actually endorse or approve marginal PSU's that aren't good choices for most PCs.
As with most things in life, you get what you pay for.
All these PSUs from endorsed companies are really overpriced... I run currently on a Sansun 550w modular... It takes an overclocked 805d and 2 volt modded 7900gts just fine...
