Turtle Beach to Release Limited Edition Call of Duty MW3 Co-branded Gaming Headsets

Turtle Beach, pioneers and market-leaders of the gaming headset category, today announced a partnership with Activision to develop a new line of exclusively licensed, limited edition Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Ear Force headsets, custom-optimized to deliver enhanced experiences for the year's most anticipated entertainment launch. Among many planned features, these new premium headsets will be distinguished by unique sets of audio presets designed specifically by the audio teams at developers Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games in order to provide the ultimate immersion into the cinematic world of Modern Warfare 3.

The headsets will be available with compatibility across Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC; with multiple feature sets, special packages with bonus content, and price points to ensure that no player is left behind.

Im going to market call of duty condoms.... I will own you all!

I often wonder about people that buy game-branded hardware. Apart from, perhaps, WoW, hardware nearly always outlasts a game's hype or popularity. Especially hardware like headphones or mice or keyboards.

You must be a serious fanboy to buy this sort of crap.

I think the flaw in your plan is that the target market that would buy CoD branded gear ... probably doesn't intersect with the target market that has a big need for condoms.

I remember in the 90s when Turtle Beach went bust. And now, with $299 for a headset, and marketing copy fail, they will go bust again. Probably before Xmas.

I don't get the naming. The most expensive is Delta, then Bravo, Charlie and finally Foxtrot.

Bjorn_Of_Iceland Jul 21, 2011 05:47 AM

Gimicky multi speaker 'surround' headphones never really sounded that good compared to one that has a large thumping drivers. If youd want 3d positioning, most of modern soundcards today do it accurately via software that would make those real headphones become 3d position capable
