how do you even get to that screen?

Open Creation Kit and load (at least) Skyrim.esm
In the Object Window select Actor (it will display all actors in right pane)
Scroll down in right pane to HousecarlWhiterun
Select it (single click) then right click and choose "edit".
Check the Preview checkbox if you want to see the image of the actor.

Kreij Feb 17, 2012 12:34 AM

crazyeyesreaper Feb 17, 2012 12:40 AM

Kreij Feb 17, 2012 12:45 AM

So are you saying you don't like scripting, Crazy?

Scripting seems pretty straight forward.

So Crazy, if I send you a model you'll map it for me?

crazyeyesreaper Feb 17, 2012 01:01 AM

yea if you send me an OBJ file i can uv map it, and texture it if i dont despise the model. Im picky, I can also model stuff as well,

Just be warned i havent worked out out the quirks yet, examples i cant get blood FX to work on weapons currently so no blood on weapons in game, also cant get the model to show up in inventory aka its there by name, but the mesh dosent show, but once equipped works fine lol

MxPhenom 216 Feb 17, 2012 01:11 AM

After running Creation Kit i noticed that now my ESPs in my data file in my skyrim folder are now known as blethesda plug in. but if i launch skyrim and click data files they are still listed esps.

Kreij Feb 17, 2012 01:16 AM

An esp is a plug-in file according to the CK. My mod shows up that way as do all of the Bethesda ones.

Irony Feb 17, 2012 02:44 AM

@crazyeyes: I'm liking your insane dragon bone smasher. I upgraded it, and as legendary it does 84 damage, with no two handed perks. so, without any enchantment but all the two handed perks it should be able to do like 170? thats cool. It weighs 45, but what the heck my carry weight is over 600.

I still use a deadric sword mostly, but its fun to send stuff flying, lol

crazyeyesreaper Feb 17, 2012 02:46 AM

my character with Max Perks etc, the weapon did 188 damage, before i upgraded it, legendary should push it above 200 ;)

and its suppose to be heavy the weapon is essentially a giant solid chunk of Iron with Dragon Bone thrown in, (in demon souls its just solid iron) but i figured with dragon bone tossed in the weapon cant be used till late game, which is wear it belongs.

If the Damage is to high for your selected difficulty it can be easily changed by loading the Construction set selecting Skyrim.esm and Dragonbone Smasher.esp set the esp to active then load the data do a search for CZER in the weapon category, from there double click and under damage, just input the value you want.

24 = Deadric
50 = Dragonbone smasher
for those on easy difficult 32-35 would be ideal
those on normal 35-38
hard 38-42
Max difficult 42-50

I'm having fun with it. I endorsed on nexus :D

crazyeyesreaper Feb 17, 2012 03:07 AM

you should look for the mod that lets you DUAL WIELD TWO HANDED WEAPONS :)

2x DBS = hilariously awesome

give me a few minutes ill see if i can get it to work lolz

back i tried couldnt get it to work, not gonna mess with it the tytanis mod + overwriting a default weapon still didnt work so screw it not worth the hassel even if it would have been hilarious.

techtard Feb 17, 2012 12:34 PM

That is one seriously badass weapon Crazyeyes. I think it should weigh a lot more though, it is massive.

crazyeyesreaper Feb 17, 2012 07:20 PM

most people dont have large carry weight i went with something thats usable its still the heaviest weapon in game by around 8 units,

mine is custom, my weapon speed is even lower .4 vs default .55 and Damage is 60 instead of 50 with a weight of 50 units,

mlee49 Feb 17, 2012 09:11 PM

I restarted as an Imperial. One handed, Blocking, Heavy Armor, Smithing, with Archery.

Doing the iron dagger trick and already outfitted a nice Dwarven set. :)

crazyeyesreaper Feb 18, 2012 12:56 AM

no you can train and then take your money back,

people say its an exploit but in reality what spouse would charge you when it comes to teaching you new skills ;)

Irony Feb 18, 2012 01:02 AM

Oh forgot about that, lol. Yeah, thats fun. You can do that with anyone, as long as your a good pickpocket.

Just found this mod on Steam Workshop: Stones of Barenziah Quest Markers

Installing it precisely for the reason the modder made it:

Quote:

1. There is usually no real hint on how to find the items. You just have to look EVERYWHERE. At least in Oblivion the Nirnroot quest only told you to find some of them, and to look near water. THIS collect quest is horrible. Horrible! Especially in a world the size of Skyrim. Seriously, who would actually be able to find ALL of them without looking them up? If you did, I salute you. I mean, most of them are in major quest locations, but a couple are in completely ordinary dungeons. You'd be lucky if Radiant Story sent you to one of them. Otherwise, what are you supposed to do, besides reach for the walkthrough? Okay, that's enough ranting.
2. I always *try* to do them on my own, and only look them up when I'm nearly finished and there are a couple I just can't find. Then I have a list of locations, and I can never remember which of them I've already collected, and which I haven't. I HATE that part.

Some Skyrim-specific rumors:

Quote:

Speaking with Kotaku at DICE last week, Todd Howard explained that while Fallout 3 had no less than five separate pieces of content, Bethesda sees Skyrim’s DLC path a bit less aggressive but by no means plans on skimping on the depth.

In a perfect world we should see less DLC for Skyrim but, as Howard points out, gamers can expect “more meat on them” adding “they’ll feel closer to an expansion pack.” With that admission it seems that we’ll see less than five pieces of DLC in our future but if we get a few more hours of gameplay out of these packages no one will complain. That’s not the entire plan though, Howard points out that his team would like to release smaller updates between the larger ones saying ,”Because that gap is going to be bigger, we want to put little things out for free in between. We’ve already done that for PC with the high-res pack. We’re trying to figure out what those things are.”
Kotaku

Mussels Feb 19, 2012 11:27 AM

i hope the DLC also kicks up the radiant quests adding more meat to them. making the randomly generated quests more detailed and more random would really help with replay value.

not to mention some more spell improvements, destruction is powerful but really dull and unvaried.

Kreij Feb 19, 2012 01:33 PM

Don't expect large mods from the community for awhile as the CK is badly borked for new outdoor areas (in ESPs) and the serious modders are having to jump through hoops with 3rd party tools to get things to work right. Small to medium new content in the existing world seems to work okay.

Bethesda says in the forums they will be working on fixing the CK for both modders and the devs (because they can't use the broken portions either). We will see.

@Crazy, I have a n00b modelling question for you ...
When you are working in a modelling program (Blender, Maya, etc.), how do you know what size to make your model? How do you correlate game size to modelling unit size?

Skyrim cloud saves now available via Steam

Bethesda announced today that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for PC now has cloud saving available via Steam.

Skyrim PC players can sync and access their PC saves anywhere using Steam's Cloud Saving service.

While Cloud Saving is nothing new for Steam, it is the first time Skyrim has it available since its launch back in November 2011.
