Hello folks, I did do a google search but couldn't really find answers that I trusted.

How far can I push the voltage on this ram for 24/7 clocks?

With my ole corsair stuff I could happily pump 1.8v through it and no experience any ill effects but not sure about this stuff ( mostly because of how cheap it is)

Also feel free to send me pro ram overclocking tips.

I've hit thermal limit with BD so overclocking other componants now : ]

I THINK it isn't a good idea to take any 1600mhz RAM over 1.7 and 1.8 sounds lethal. Could be grossly mistaken though.

The max I'm willing to take my 1600mhz ripjaws is 1.68 and have them at 1.675 myself.

For BD what helps stabilize the RAM as well is increasing the NB Voltage, try not to go over 1.2v as you might actually experience negative results.

Thanks man, the next divider up takes me to 1760 mhz, if you were me what settings would you try first?

And would you think timings would need loosened up somewhat?


I hate over-clocking ram so never became saavy :p

Personally my Rip Jaws work fine at 9-9-9-24-33 T1 at exactly those speeds with 1.65 volts of RAM and can't recall my NB but I probably have it at 1.17v. At like 1800 though I had to put it at like 9-10-9-27 which helped but I never really tested that as I should have.

If you want to go the FSB route and increase that try raising your NB-CPU Voltage from default to 1.30000 scaling it with your FSB. At a FSB of 260, 1.3000 volts max is what I'd recommend.

I've tried lots of stuff but I still haven't found my Chips sweet spot. I think investing in better RAM would actually help us out a lot in the case of BD. Something I plan on doing.

And don't forget to benchmark each RAM setting, because you may find that higher clocks is not better at all!
