Half Life series
 

Just recently got around to playing the Half Life games and really enjoyed them all. Was wondering if my final battle in the original Half Life was oddly quick or just so-so... http://youtu.be/5WKKCyCfdt4

No, my battle with the last boss was exactly like you did, but only many years ago.

I personally love HL2 and the episodes and I wish Valve would give us some love and finish the series!

Just my two cents, HL is one of the best series ever made..

Half-Life really set the bar for single-player FPS games. HL2 is still the only game I flat out built a new computer in anticipation of xD

half life is not only the story,take a look on moddb and see the list of mods for half life 1 and for hl2 series ,most of them are on steam like pirates vikings and knight 2,dystopia , insurgency , is obligated have the half life series xd

Also official "mods" like day of defeat and counterstrike. There are other mods like Zombie Panic, and Firearms mods too

I have been out of the gaming loop for many years ( hope to remedy this next fall / winter ).....and HL2 was one of the last games I played fully. I loved HL1 and 2...a LOT! It was my first FPS game I had ever played , and I was hooked like a junkie to heroin! In fact....since this old AMD 4000 rig I use everyday can still run HL2 really well....I may re-install and have some fun.

BTW.....I am praying that we see a HL3 come out one day.....I'd buy it in a heart beat!

I'm sure most of us would. If they are actually working on a conclusion to one of the best game series of all time, Valve sure does know how to keep their mouth shut about it. But I'm afraid that it is going to follow the road of Duke Nukem and not live up to everyones expectations, that is the only thing I am worried about.
Games were simple and effective back then...ahh, the good ole days :D

Half Life 1 single player was probably one of the longest single player games I have ever played in terms of a FPS shooter.

I also love the HL series and is patiently waiting for HL3 or whatever HalfLife game comes next..

Same here!!!!!! When the original Half Life was getting released my old system just would not run the game! Built a new system with a Diamond Monster II 3DFX video card to play the game!:laugh:

Again when the deadline was arriving for Half Life 2 I built a new system and stood in line to grab a copy of the "limited edition" boxed game.

Awesome game to be honest. I still have the boxed set. :p

Sven Co-Op, Natural Selection, The Specialists, Dragonball Z Mod, etc.

I spent hours upon hours playing HL1 Mod's, Sven Co-Op was basically what L4D became, half a decade before L4D lol. Natural Selection 2 is actually close to Beta\Release, and the HL1 version was probably the single best Mod (not titled Counter-Strike) I've played.
