Helping A friend with a new build...

Hey guys!

So my friend saved up enough money (hopefully enough) for a new PC which is $600 (converted from PHP)

He's a gamer focused user and he's choosing between these Processors;

Pentium G840 (I'm really pressing him to get a)
Core i3 2100

or for the AMD build;
FX 6100 or 4100 (though I would never get the 4100 myself
A6-3650

I understand Gaming wise the AMD build is better, plus he doesn't care about which brand he gets...

plus he's vouching for a HD7770 or at most a HD6870..

also it would be great if you can help with the other parts :D he doesn't need a monitor anymore since he has a 20 inch moniter already (i think it runs on 900 or 1080...) and he need WiFi (or WLAN) whichever the case....

Thanks for the halp guys!

I would go FX-6100 and add a HD 7850 (Some are around $180 if you hunt!). Wifi adapters go for $20-40, maybe less.

FX-6100 @ 3.3 GHz --- $110
Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard --- $85
Corsair Vengeance RAM --- $50
XFX Radeon HD 7850 1GB ----$180
Zalman Z9 Plus ---$50
Corsair Builder CX500 (Probably should get something better) ------- $50

$530 ish, add an adapter for $550?

I would get something better.I learned the hardway.Spend a little extra on your psu.Dont underestimate how important a component it is.
I use fsp and never had a problem.

Yeah, go for a Seasonic, higher-end Corsair, etc. Just a few suggestions.

The CX-500 is a plenty good unit for the proposed build. CWT is a reputable OEM and makes the entire toughpower line for Thermaltake not to mention many many more well rated powersupplies.
