Looking for a GPU heatsink (read inside)

I have one of these cards sitting at work:

EVGA 256-P2-N733-LR GeForce 8400 GS 256MB 64-bit G...

The problem is, the fan died and I would like to replace it. The stock heatsink has pushpins that are diagonal to each other, and they are 80mm apart (on center). Does anyone have anything that can replace this? Heat in sig... :respect:

PM [Ion] he may have one ;)

Oh my, I forgot! I couldn't find the heatsink you were looking for sorry. :o I know exactly what your talking about too, the one I had cooled the chipset on an old board floating around here. Good luck on your quest for the missing link to find the sink! :respect:

I have a evga 7300 gt which has a hsf very similar to that if you want it. Cost to you shipping and I'll send the whole card as it is fried.

It's this one here.

can you verify for me that the holes are 70mm apart?

still looking

I have a Ref 8800GT that is dead I could send you for shipping.

t_ski Oct 25, 2012 02:48 PM

prpbably noy going to work unless the heatsink is similar.

brandonwh64 Oct 25, 2012 02:51 PM

You honestly could get away with buying a 60mm/70mm case fan and mounting it on the original heatsink then useing the connector from the old to wire it into the GPU. Would save money but take some time installing.

I did think of that, but I'm trying to resurrect this card for work, so I'd prefer to have something less rigged and more stock.

I'll check this evening but I do believe it will work considering the card you posted and mine are basically the same pcb.

Thanks - keeping my fingers crossed ;)

ThE_MaD_ShOt Oct 25, 2012 11:26 PM

I am measuring about 3.25 inches between the pins. I would swear this will work as it to me looks like the exact same pcb front and back. Even has the four smaller holes around the gpu.

Heres your on the back

Here's mine on the back

I'll have to doubke-check it tomorrow. BTW, 70mm is 2.75 inches, so unless I have the extra mounting holes around the GPU I don't think it will work.

stinger608 Oct 26, 2012 03:13 AM

Why not just grab one of these?

http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=174216

CS is an awesome member and for $17 shipped for one it would be hard pressed to even buy a fan that would be correct to fit it for that price. :-)

BlackOmega Oct 26, 2012 04:29 AM

Um .. why not just replace the whole card? I have a 384mb 9600 GSO I'd let go for really cheap.

I used to have that same style card back when it was $5 after rebate free shipping. I like that it is a full size PCB. Makes it look more aesthetically pleasing. :) Bump4u

CS Oct 28, 2012 12:45 AM

Thanks for putting in a good word for me, stinger !

tski, have you checked out Ebay ? They have loads of replacement fans of different diameters as well as heatsinks for cheap, the downside is you need to sort trough a lot of results to find something that will match your card, and it might take a while to arrive from China.

TacoTown Oct 28, 2012 01:34 AM

It would probably just be cheaper to get a new card.

mediasorcerer Oct 28, 2012 03:02 AM

il keep an eye out too why not, i got stuff laying around id happily give you if you need it.

Yours must not be exactly like the one link you posted from the egg. The one you linked would have the holes for the hsf mine is using and should be actually using them. :toast:
