Asus K50 Hdd fail, go SSD?

Ok fellow TPUer's I'm in the mercy of helping "WIFE":respect:
My wife's Asus K501J drive died SATA Seagate Momentus 5400.6 350Gb Date 09485
I seen this last week a couple times the 0xc00000e9 error, but as a :nutkick:dumbass i didnt back up:shadedshu
I'd think an SSD would be best choice but $$$ is still issue.
I've narrowed to a few choices
Verbatim 120GB 2.5" SATA III Solid State Drive (SSD) - 47378 $70

Intel X25-M SATA Solid State Drive - 160 GB $90 after $30 rebate

SAMSUNG 840 Series MZ-7TD120BW 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) $99

Since the Samsung ram has proven to be flawless i'm partial to it, but $30 saving's for the Verbatium.
Also I cant grasp why the Intel drive was a $400 now as market moves it "seems" to be a good bang for the $.

What I dont know is:
Will she see a vast improvement other than booting?
Will she see a vast improvement waking from Sleep/Hibernation?
Will she see a vast improvement just doing normal tasks, facebook, watching videos on disk, or youtube,
In other words will I be able to make her happy with an SSD vs Hdd to help enforce why I get good parts for "My" pc {ie I mentioned that i'll need a new video card when the HD8000's come out) " Oh for playing games? !!!:slap: "
Plese guide me to a cost/performance to justify "Why is it you have to buy the crap online"
She wants/needs her lappy back ASAP and I also want to get her going ASAP.

Please guide me to a cost effective repair for her , 'cos she mentioned that she can get an HP for under $400, and reminded me that "Both our older Toshiba Sattlite's STILL work", and that "I talked her into getting this $600+ [wierd] ASUS brand, and now it's broke in like 3 yrs"
I've tried to explain that ASUS is a high end componet maker, and one of the better builders since they do most all the internals inhouse, but she still dont really grap it, ie back to the toshiba line...............

(Fifth Element, Lilu) Ple ze hellp

It's fast enough that you don't need to sleep it. You could just set it up to turn off when you close the lid or if she is has important stuff on the screen, hibernate it (assuming she doesn;t do that too many times each day)

oh, and you shouldn't need to justify buying stuff for yourself. it's your hobby. Does she need to justify buying a nice new pair of shoes when she could get a pair of $5 pumps from the bargain store?

This girl NEVER get's anything for herself:confused::wtf:

The main issue is that since I have became disabled after the MVA last Feb, I was terminated from my job of 32yrs since all of vacation,FMLA and S&A was exhausted, and since I have to shell out for COBRA, it's not like before when I could pay it off

I was changing some of the Advanced Power usage so I'll give that a shot
It may be that I'm not setting power correct for when it's just idle but Batt drain was very very fast
I may have to suck it up and put the ASUS bloatware Vista back on there :ohwell:
