Need Video Editing Software recommendation

I just got the new GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition Helmet Camera for Christmas, and Im goign to be upgrading my 500GB hard drive to a 1-2TB drive to fit all the 1080p and 1440p videos I make of snowboarding, motocross, and mountain biking on. I now need a good, but free, or semi cheap video editing software.

Virtual Dub is free. The good ones cost $ Nice gift though. I'm totally jealous

No lol, I heard Sony Vegas was pretty good.

You can try Windows Live Movie Maker, it is basic but it is free and gets the job done as long as you don't want to add a bunch of special effects or crap like that. It is good for stringing videos together, cutting out parts, adding transitions, adding titles/credits, adding music, etc.

I use Vegas Pro. It's really good. It has a learning curve, but nothing compared to the one in After Effects or Premier.

I think there should be a demo. If your short for cash, I suggest sticking with movie maker for the time being, or there are *hint* alternatives. Cough.

For now ill stick with movie maker, till i get more into the video editing aspect, and want to be more intuitive and creative in my edits.

Thanks guys.

But I do agree, GoPro needs to hire a big group of developers to create Video edition software specifically for their GoPros.

Okay, how do you put a Zune Music file into a video in Movie Maker? I read it needs to be converted to a MP3 for it work. How do you do that?

They don't have their own software; however, they have CineForm Studio (Free) at their GoPro site and you can upgrade to the PRO version.

And, you can get free apps, too.

There is,also, a product update for the Hero3.

Post a good video of your attempt to beat Felix Baumgartner's record breaking skydive!

Ill try Sony Vegas next video I make. I just need to know how to put music into videos now. I read they need to be converted to MP3 files. Not sure how to do that though.
