Build feedback and PSU advice

Hey guys, So i've bought everything but the PSU, keyboard and monitor for my new PC. I would appreciate any feedback with my build, any advice in putting it together and if 1200 wats is going to be overkill for the PSU. As for monitors, i'm looking for something HD, 120hz and 23-24". Thanks again!

Thats a lot of money and the prices are high. Where do you live?

Well the HD is priced normal. Everything else is high. $150 for W7 64 OEM is crazy

Australia ?

1200w is still way overkill even for two 7970s. A decent 850w would be adequate to power even two GHz Eds. We have one person here that just built such a rig with two GHz Ed Vapor X 7970s using a Corsair HX850.

As far as i'm concerned any PSU 1000 watts or more is really made for people who are doing extreme overclocking and/or useing 4 video cards for 4way SLI or quadfire

Or water cooling, fans lights as well as many hard drives ;)

1200W is overkill. I'm with everybody else here, a good 850W will do the job.
That Asus Matrix is a 3 slot monster, if you plan to go crossfire I'd choose another card otherwise everything's fine.

With the motherboard in the link that i provided, would i be able to run, lets say a HD7970 and a 7950?

It might be possible but you'll have to further check not the motherboard but crossfire compatibility. Crossfire works surely with 2 same cards, not by the same manufacturer but 2x7970 for example.

Are there often problems associated with crossfiring something like a 7970 and 7950 or even just crossfiring in general? And if i OC my CPU and GPU, is it going to put more wear and tear on them?
