Monitor advice
Hey guys. I have now purchased all the parts for my PC and am having it built. The cost totals at around $3300 not including the monitor. I would like a monitor thats 22-24", 120Hz and HD. I would ideally like to spent around $350-$400. I am having trouble finding a monitor that fits my preferences, even at any price. I saw this today at the shops and was wondering if it's actually any good? http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/compu...monitor/665980. I don't really want to get a cheap monitor as i've spent so much on my PC. If anyone has any suggestions or advice i would i appreciate it :)

So your in Australia? Does Dell ship there? You don't want that monitor. How about a 27 in?
Go ahead and list all your hardware Edit: Hey look http://www.dell.com.au/ http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/p...=baynoteSearch |
My build - https://www.ple.com.au/ViewWishlist....1-a6c09089166d. I have had a further look at some smaller stores and found this - http://www.netplus.com.au/product/MN...Tilt_1920x1080 To me it looks like a good deal but i really can't tell.

Save yourself $110 and get this instead. It's plenty for two 7970s.
The 3D 120Hz display would be nice if you wanted to run Nvidia GPUs and make use of Light Boost, but with AMD cards you're not going to be able to make use of such tech. The Dell suggested is an IPS 8 bit panel, which would have much better image quality than the LG 6 bit TN panel. With the money you could save on the 850w PSU though, you could easily get this. |

Excellent monitor for the price, punches above it's class. Spend a few minutes calibrating and be rewarded even more so :) |
So i've done some more research and look at a few reviews on the lg 25"; they don't look all that promising. Heres another alternative, tell me what you think of it. http://ple.com.au/ViewItem.aspx?Inve...CategoryID=296
I would prefer to buy something locally as i'm moving house in a few days and would like to have the monitor by then. Thanks everyone for all your advice, it's much appreciated :D |
That will do.

Thanks for the advice. When i get a monitor, what is the difference between using the HDMI and DVI port to connect it to the computer? Is HDMI better?

I've always been a fan of Samsung's picture quality(I have a 305t and a 2220wm), but thier customer service isn't always the best
