HDMI to DVI

I'm using an HDMI to DVI cable so I can play my PS3 on my monitor because my TV has crapped out on me. I have picture, but no sound. I'm assuming there's no sound because my monitor lack speakers. Is there an optional route that I can take without having to purchase another monitor?

I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong section.

DVI doesn't carrying an audio stream, only video. I don't know if the PS3 outputs sound on more than one audio port but, assuming it does, your best bet would be to plug RCA (red and white) audio into some kind of speaker system. It's only 2.0 but, if PS3 is using them, it would work.

Thanks! I have to use the original composite cable for sound. Good thing my speakers have an auxiliary jack
