New server mods found for Bad Company 2!
Battlefield: Bad Company 2′s unofficial mod support is better late than never Tricksy modders have wrestled control of Battlefield: Bad Company 2′s architecture from DICE’s iron fist. Using… magic, probably, the community at Emulator Nexus have reverse engineered EA’s servers, allowing support for custom matches that support modifications. In layman’s terms? Super powered helicopter rocket attacks are go. Accessing modified servers simply requires downloading a tiny .dll file for your BC2 directory. Hosting one is vastly more complicated. Instructions are available here, for those who understand this sort of thing. While Bad Company 2 is a bit long in the tooth, it seems Emulator Nexus’ co-founder NoFaTe is also working on Battlefield 3 server emulation. It’s still in the early stage, with no public release mentioned, but could potentially lead to user-hosted modified servers in that game too. Thanks, MordorHQ. Source |
Gonna be keeping an eye on this :D

I remember hacked servers a few years ago with DICE ammo, had frag rounds for shotguns and such was so much fun. sniper could call infinite mortars whole maps would crumble.
Have to get back into this again. |
They need to emulate servers? Like gameboy games?

Watching the video made me miss the BC2 days. BF3 is great, but seems to miss some of the magic.

BC2 was not really that bad in the GFX department. I do see some increases with BF3 but its not ground breaking.
|
ill take bc2 over bf3 any day. i cant spend all day running around some giant virtual world just to get shot by 15 year old hackers.

I prefer BF3 over BC2, because of the varied map environments, each of which gives a very varied style of gameplay. There's something for everyone, now. BC2 feels like a kindergarden jigsaw now...far too easy. While not everyone appreciates the "problems" with BF3, to me they offer a greater challenge, and I like to be challenged. I took MVP often in both BC2 and BF3, and now still do. BF3 is harder. And yes, I played BC2 recently. My son's just picked it up a few weeks ago, almost has all the unlocks now. |
