Enermax INFINITI - World's First DX10-ready Desktop PSU Series
 

Enermax is proud to announce INFINITI as its latest high-end PSU series. New graphic cards such as ATI R600 or NVIDIA 8800 series will consume more and more power, so ENERMAX created its new INFINITI line of mainstream market power supplies, ideal for systems with 1 to 3 video cards and one multi-core processor. INFINITI will be the succesor of the LIBERTY, NOISETAKER II and FMA II desktop series PSUs. Ranging from 650W to 750W, it comes with three separated 12V rails, each capable of providing up to 28 resp. 30A. All INFINITI units will be modular and cooled by a special 13.5cm fan for silent operation. INFINITI will start shipping in the beginning of December to ENERMAX global subsidiaries and, depending on area, it should be available in the sales channels from January onwards. Prices might vary locally.

300 watt per card, where are the Energy police on this issue - VGA energy consumption is getting way out of hand, how can they justify a Graphics card taking nearly as much as the rest of the full system? Nvidia and AMD need the kick up their arses in the form of a total independant rival who can challenge then on Energy efficiency as well as performance, if AMD can do it to intel hopefully someone rises to the challenge and does it to Nvidia and AMD

Is this really any more DX10 ready than other PSUs with a similar power rating?

Yes it has the magical Micro$haft pat on the head meaing its certified and no doubt Micro$shaft either gets payed for the product certification or per unit sold

Anyone familiar with the term MARKETEERING? That's when someone invents new nonsense to hype a product. Marketeers rank right up there with purveyors of Spyware and Phishers. Anyone who is so gullible as to believe .000000000001 of what they read in ads or PR hype deserves to get bamboozled, IMO.

This whole "certifying" thing is getting out of hand. First SLI, then Crossfire, and now DX10. Who else thinks that they are going to make "SLI Certified Printers" next.

Stop spreading dead rumors. It's 225-300w per system with a card in it.

Are you sure, because nvidia's 8800gtx already draw about 150W not overclocked. Pair of those will double this digits, and ATI is giving all it has to beat G80. If you men R600 will use something like 80-90W power draw to beat nvidias monster...you're lieing yourself. :shadedshu

Wow that article is wrong, the 8800GTX doesnt draw nearly that much itself, the total system power draw was in the mid 200 range as can be seen in this review.

Maybe check this article on the homepage. It clearly shows that the entire system with an 8800GTX is drawing under 250w, and that includes the inefficiencies of the PSU.
