Rumbling controllers never coming to the PS3, Sony calls them 'last generation'
Sony has dashed the hopes of millions of PS3 users hoping to get an after-market controller for the PS3 that would have rumble. They did not incorporate rumble in their next-generation console not because a lawsuit prevented them from doing so, but because they felt rumble was a "last generation feature", and that motion sensitive controllers are for the current generation of consoles. You can read Sony's actual quote by following the source link.

those stupid heads i love rumble it helps me enter the game :shadedshu

"last generation feature"...HAHA what a nice come back...
|
.... to be honest I don't really care if it has rumble or not, it's not like I noticed it anyways when I was playing it.not like its a huge downfall for sony.
|
I loved rumble, but won't miss it on the Playstation...it's not like I play that many Playstation games :p. Instead, I will get myself an Xbox360, and enjoy pumping covenant fools full of lead with my dual SMG's, with the added fun of rumble.
|
Personally, rumble is a completely useless feature for me. Even with an actual timed rumble to something going on, it never helped me get into anything. I usually turned it off if it was an option. The only reason I liked rumble, was because it made the controller heavier. I feel the PS3 controllers are too light.

"It's not an omission/glitch, it's a feature!"

Halo with the dual smg...each side rumbles with what trigger you pull. :rockout: |
Sony-"Its not that we were being sued over it"

Even if u get a rumble controller, the games dont, and arent going to support it anyway.

What idiots. First the Wii uses rumble. Second, PS3's motion sensors do not add one speck of innovation to their games. As an owner of 2 PS3s, let me tell you that the motion sensors in fact they make their games more akward to play. PS: the only good game for the PS3 right now is flOw. |
I love rumble and I think its neat, but I dont have to have the damn thing and neither should none of you. Honestly, to get upset over not having rumble is just retarded. wanna show that you deserve rumble? let your wallets speak. We know that wont happen because as soon as the PS3 becomes affordable, it will fly off the shelves.

Not with my hard earned $$$

Are sony just shooting themselves in the foot over and over again for shits and giggles now?
|
Probably Ket :)

I bet sony will release a firmware adding rumble support eventually. I can see a huge uproar from the gaming community over this.
|
I honestly don't see any uproar. Realistically, no one seems to give a flying cow on a surf board about it. Besides even with a firmware update, a lot of work would have to go into the older games to add it, who wants to do that, not me. It would be more work for something thats completely useless.

You cant get a feel for a lot of game types without rumble, a sence of touch is equally as important as seeing and hearing.
|
who the fuk cares, pos1/2/3 suck, consol "gamers" suck, gime a nice pc anyday :D

Rumble is hardly a sense of touch to me. Now if the controller grew hot, and cold, and had wind effects, and changed how it felt, and shook how actual items shook and the chair you were in and your house vibrated, then you would have a sense of touch. Rumble to me is a poor excuse and a poor step toward a more inclusive gaming world. |
